ChrisGriswold[edit]

  • Code letter: G

For five months, a contentious editing process has unfolded at Taylor Allderdice High School. Due to the involved editors' patience, no edit warring or radical acts have occurred, until possibly now. A consensus emerged last December regarding a substantial portion of material, and ChrisGriswold noted his support of the consensus here[1]. Subsequently, a new disagreement arose between another editor, Steve_block and me, and despite our long attempt to collaborate, we still cannot agree so I have requested help from the Mediation Cabal here[2]. ChrisGriswold has, on the talk page, frequently posted his support for the editor with whom I've requested mediation. Early in the editing process my concern over ChrisGriswold's incivility led me to request an AMA here[3], but since then ChrisGriswold has not himself edited the article in some time, but only commented occasionally on its talk page.

Immediately after I requested mediation, a new editor, Superburgh, appeared and cut substantial portions of material from the previous consensual material here[4]. When I reverted Superburgh's cuts, citing grounds and referring, in the edit summary, to the existing discussion on the talk page, Superburgh merely responded by reverting without acknowledging the existing discussion here[5]. Contentwise, Superburgh's cuts aim at the most sensitively negotiated material, and so seem to intend to disrupt the mediation process. Furthermore, about two hours after Superburgh's first appearance on the page, ChrisGriswold performed an unrelated edit here[6]. Superburgh's reversion happens 12 minutes after ChrisGriswold's appearance.

I've checked the time/datestamps of all of Superburgh's contributions, and every single one of them occurs within a very short time (15-120 minutes) of contributions by ChrisGriswold, implying that Superburgh is only ever online at WP when ChrisGriswold is online. Superburgh's contributions are very narrowly focused on material related to the city of Pittsburgh, and ChrisGriswold is part of the Pittsburgh wikiproject. From his first appearance on WP in February 2007, Superburgh's edit summaries and citations of policy indicate a very experienced user, and so they indicate the possibility that Superburgh is a sockpuppet. ChrisGriswold has extensive editing experience.

Diffs involving Superburgh and ChrisGriswold in the history of Taylor Allderdice High School are few because ChrisGriswold himself has not edited that page in a long time and Superburgh has never posted on the talk page. But Superburgh's sudden appearance, deletions, and reversions seem well-aimed and timed to disrupt the mediation process. To establish sockpuppetry, the checkuser information is needed to accompany the extensive timing evidence because of the limited availability of diffs. 0-0-0-Destruct-0 18:15, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
