Buffadren

[edit]
  • Code letter: G

Buffadren is a trouble maker (check his block log) who appeared in Transnistria-related articles, my old suspicion is that Buffadren is a sock of old sockpuppeteer User:Mark us street which was discovered in December 2006 [1], his IP was blocked for a month. Mark us street claimed he retired from Wikipedia, however this was not true, he came back with the names User:Esgert and User:Truli. Buffadren appeared imediately after the one-month block of Mark us street was over, with similar behaviour as Mark us street. My previous request of checking if Buffadren is a sock of Mark us street was rejected based on the fact that Mark us street last edits are too old to check. However, Essay blocked the IP of Mark us street for a month, maybe this IP is still stored somewhere, if not we know from this edit an IP used by Mark us street (who is the same person as User:MarkStreet [2], and was caught sockpuppeteering with this name also[3]). I believe the user dropped both wikinames User:MarkStreet and User:Mark us street under which he had many blocks and was caught sockpuppeteering, in order to avoid scrutiny from other editors and to receive short-duration blocks for future disruptive edits or edit-warrings. Showninner and Soonpush were blocked as being sockpuppets of User:Bonaparte, however I don't believe Bonaparte was involved here. Soonpush activities - changing "Transnistria" with "Trans-dniester" [4] and Showninner activities - eliminating category "Moldovan politicians" from some Transnistrian politicians pages [5] (implying that Transnistria is not part of Moldova) don't match with Bonaparte's style, but is matching with Buffadren/Mark us street. There are other similarities, like insistence of including links to "Tiraspol Times" [6] (MarkStreet told that he is editor of "Tiraspol Times" [7] and same language in accusing opponents ("black propaganda"), or claiming that opponents have a comercial interest to avoid the inclusion of links to "Tiraspol Times" [8], [9]. As Buffadren made recently a trip [10], check please also his older contributions, is possible that during the trip he edited from an other IP.--MariusM 13:41, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed. Buffadren = 193.120.95.11 = Mark us street. The checkuser log shows that 193.120.95.11 is in fact Mark (the edit was true). Soonpush = Showninner, which are not related to the others.Voice-of-All 14:19, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is the anon IP, not me, who added Dikarka at checkuser request. Dikarka looks like a single-purpose account interested in Transnistria, with similar positions as Mark us street, the editor of Tiraspol Times. However, a checkuser which included Dikarka and Buffadren was done some time ago, but none of them were listed as main sockpuppeteer [11]. As Showninner = Soonpush but they seems not related with Buffadren and I believe they are not Bonaparte (even the admin who labeled them as Bonaparte told that "Probably the identification with Bonnie was a bit premature - in fact, Bonnie has contacted me in private and claimed (plausibly) it's not him" [12]), I consider plausible that those are sockpuppets of Dikarka, a check is usefull. Even a new verification between Dikarka and Buffadren can be usefull, as previous result is not a 100% assurance that they are not the same person, just that this could not be proved.--MariusM 15:36, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Buffadren

Kertu3 has only 6 contributions in Wikipedia - 2 of them in 18 February, when he started his wikilife accusing others of sockpuppetry (strange for a newbie!, it seems he knows a lot about editing problems in Wikipedia!) and other 4 today when he vandalized Transnistria article. While my main suspicion is that Kertu3 is a sockpuppet of User:Pernambuco (I made a separate report), I also suspect Buffadren to use this sock in order to breach 3RR, as the edits are similar and Buffadren had already 3 reverts when Kertu3 appeared. Evidence of vandalism and breaching 3RR: 29 March 08:52, 29 March 13:41, 29 March 13:58, 30 March 00:24, 30 March 00:28, 30 March 00:50.

One of my old suspicion is that Buffadren is a sock of old sockpuppeteer User:Mark us street which I discovered in December 2006 [13], his IP was blocked for a month and after that Mark us street claimed he retired from Wikipedia and Buffadren appeared imediately after the one-month block of Mark us street was over, with similar behaviour as Mark us street.
