Argyle2006[edit]

  • Supporting evidence:

I've been dealing with a long-term vandal who creates new accounts about weekly to insert opinions, counter-factual statements and WP:BLP violations in a variety of articles. A great number of blocked socks can be found here. Common article targets include those listed below plus Doris Kearns Goodwin, The Librarians, M*A*S*H (TV series), Charlie Rose, and Cryptdin, among others.

I have listed all the accounts that I've personally dealt with since October. All of the above accounts have been indefinitely blocked (mostly by me), and the listed IP still has another month to go on its latest block. However, it would be useful to identify any as-yet undetected accounts or sleeper accounts for this individual. Perhaps blocking the underlying IP(s) may be warranted.  Confirmed to be related to the above accounts:

All recent IP addresses are already blocked. [[Sam Korn]] (smoddy) 00:32, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Argyle2006[edit]

Based on an AIV report, I looked at the edits of 204.69.4.81 (talk · contribs) to David McCullough...I see a series of accounts and IPs that appear to be targeting that article and Garrison Keillor-related stuff...

Observations: Reoccurring abuse of David McCullough, Garrison Keillor (and related ie. Guy Noir, A Prarie Home Companion), Lost (TV series) (specifically Music on LOST), and The Sopranos.

IPs seems to have a relationship to UC Riverside area computer system... The pattern of abuse dates back to last November at least, with rather few associated blocks and warnings!

I think it's clear that all the accounts are probably indef-blockable. Argyle2006--the only account with a block on its record--was blocked for 31 hours @ 02:17, May 5, 2008; an edit by Tramstra occurred during this time. 204.69.4.82 has been blocked several times over the period of interest here, including a current 3 month block. 207.233.7.121 has had 6 weeks of block time since February. 138.23.77.83 is under a current 3 mo. block. Etc. Etc.

If all these accounts are connected, there's some serious block evasion and long-term vandalism...I'd like to know if there are any further accounts/IPs that should be dealt with.

Thanks! — Scientizzle 00:33, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sure it's just a coincidence—Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.233.7.121 (talkcontribs)

Thanks Thatcher...I'll go clean this up now... — Scientizzle 15:09, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All accounts have been indef'd and all IPs listed that weren't already blocked are now blocked for 1-3 months. Thanks, — Scientizzle 15:44, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
