Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Coolcat, Davenbelle and Stereotek/Evidence

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Please note that Coolcat has begun using the account Cool Cat (talk · contribs). This may affect certain links, in most cases substituting Cool Cat for Coolcat will cause the link to go to the proper place.

Anyone, whether directly involved or not, may add evidence to this page. Please make a header for your evidence and sign your comments with your name.

When placing evidence here, please be considerate of the arbitrators and be concise. Long, rambling, or stream-of-conciousness rants are not helpful.

As such, it is extremely important that you use the prescribed format. Submitted evidence should include a link to the actual page diff; links to the page itself are not sufficient. For example, to cite the edit by Mennonot to the article Anomalous phenomenon adding a link to Hundredth Monkey use this form: [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Anomalous_phenomenon&diff=5587219&oldid=5584644] [1].

This page is not for general discussion - for that, see talk page.

Please make a section for your evidence and add evidence only in your own section. Please limit your evidence to a maximum 1000 words and 100 diffs, a much shorter, concise presentation is more likely to be effective. Please focus on the issues raised in the complaint and answer and on diffs which illustrate behavior which relates to the issues.

If you disagree with some evidence you see here, please cite the evidence in your own section and provide counter-evidence, or an explanation of why the evidence is misleading. Do not edit within the evidence section of any other user.

Be aware that the Arbitrators may at times rework this page to try to make it more coherent. If you are a participant in the case or a third party, please don't try to refactor the page, let the Arbitrators do it. If you object to evidence which is inserted by other participants or third parties please cite the evidence and voice your objections within your own section of the page. It is especially important to not remove evidence presented by others. If something is put in the wrong place, please leave it for the arbitrators to move.

Trolling or not? You be the judge. Evidence is restricted to the start of the arb com hearing for the recent problems. --Cool Cat Talk 18:57, 20 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

      • Reverting me reverting an annon. FROM MARCH!
        • Input is nececsary here regarding content. The decleration of Ataurk as an Atheist is original reseacrh.
        • The whole thing is based on what he said to a reporter in private (and that is translated in english).
        • Meanwhile he did attend mosques reqularly.
        • Also there was at least 2 uprisings by "religious" communities which are commonly referanced as "Islamist", one being the Menemen incident, another being the Sheih Said uprising.
        • It is equalt sane to argue that he was pissed off at Islamists. Furthermore, he could have been referancing his position as a president (seperation of state and goverment) rather than how he personaly feels about religion.
        • I do not think it is right to declare someone as "Atheist" based only on one discrete comment that MAY suggest this but does not necesarily have to. Regardless, an annon suggested the atheism idea and davenbelle simply kept on reverting me.
  11. User:Cool Cat/d
    • Realise he is editing someone elses comment, something he was whining about me doing (while I was fixing double redirect problem after my username change). Not that it matters, but its something he whines about.

Stuff since 20 Sep 2005[edit]

I presented evidence and then commented on it in bullets. You are welcome to ingore the bullets.

  1. User:Cool Cat/d
    • He is complaining the silly on everything I do. If people posts something in my talk page, I will repond to it in both places and carry/sync everything mentioned to minimise confusion. A large number of users do this.
  2. User:Cool Cat/d
    • Umm he was reverting me (rather agressively) for this and now he is doing it. Not that I am annoyed or bugged (on the countrary saves me work) but...
    • The correct referance should have been to Wikipedia:Changing_username. Why I ask you is "Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Coolcat, Davenbelle and Stereotek/Proposed decision" mentioned?
  3. User:Cool Cat/d
    • Complaining about fair use of images. Basicaly finding something to argue about, the article is on a FAC drive, most experienced wikipedia editors are reviewing the page.
    • Why is it necessary for Davenbelle to mess with issues on an article he had no edits prior to me and all he did was minor corrections. It really disrupts wikipedia when people just complain about "random policies" just to perhaps annoy me.
    • User is obsessed with my edits finding fault and motive from every single one he can. User is suffering severely from Assume bad faith.
  4. User:Cool Cat/d up to the starting line. ...it is probably delaying the chances of Turkey of entering the Europe Union as quickly as it wants to.
    • I do not think this person is neutral regarding issues with Turkey. I believe he has more extreme views than I do.
    • Alternatively he is posting random news paper articles several times which coincidentaly relate to Turkey.
    • I am not bother by him having views, but since this RfAr revolves around "POV" and "POV Pushing"...
  5. User:Cool Cat/f
    • ...Coolcat, you are a pathological liar and a manipulator. While this might be considered a personal attack... Fadix 16:15, 23 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
    • Although I concentrated my evidence strictly for stalking and perhaps prospective trolling this will be an exeption.

Evidence presented by Davenbelle (talk · contribs)[edit]

Please see: User:Davenbelle/Evidence re User:Coolcat moved: Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Coolcat, Davenbelle and Stereotek/Evidence/Davenbelle's Evidence re Coolcat from April; this is a raw document that I was preparing for the previous case User:Coolcat attempted to bring to ArbCom — I will be glad to paste it here if requested, however it is quite long...

Antiwar.com (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)[edit]

User:Coolcat should not have brought this up; his conduct here was appalling.

See: Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Antiwar.com

User:Coolcat fails to understand that an article about an obviously POV website is still an appropriate subject for an NPOV article.

Some of the comments offered on the VfD:

  • Keep. This VfD is a prime example of Mr. Coolcat's lack of understanding of the NPOV policy. — Davenbelle 12:40, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC) diff
  • Vandalism. This vandal marked the article "speedy delete" and mass-deleted wikilinks to it. Mirror Vax 13:41, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC) diff
  • Keep: Evidence of nominator acting in bad faith. jglc | t | c 16:09, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC) diff
  • Keep. Fine article, astonishingly bad behavior by nominator. -Willmcw 16:13, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC) diff
  • Keep - especially considering bad-faith actions of nominator. One does not delete every Wikilink to an article (thus creating gobs of work for other Wikipedians) until vote has been certified. Nominator needs to study the VFD process before nominating other articles. --FCYTravis 09:18, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC) diff

Disrupting this evidence page[edit]

This evidence page has subpages. And in the interest of keeping track of them both for the present case and the historical record it will become I felt it appropriate to add a list of them to ease navigation. The first version of this was added in August and was unmolested for over three weeks. Then User:Cool Cat removed it with the edit summary "One of them is no longer a sub page. Second is a duplicate" — I restored it. And, of course, he removed it again (3 consecutive edits — ever running up that count). I restored it yet again, and he removed it yet again.

While it was tempting to see if he'd like to be listed for a 3RR violation on the evidence page, I did not restore it again. I still feel that such a listing is appropriate:

Evidence presented by Stereotek (talk · contribs)[edit]

Note: I now edit, using my real name Karl Meier (talk · contribs)

My response to Coolcat's claims regarding my edits in the abortion and the antiwar.com articles (copy/pasted from the RfC)

The abortion article:

Coolcats comments regarding my edits in the abortion article are simply not true. The conflict started when he replaced the previously well written prose in several sections with a unorganized collection of bullets. I started my work restoring the prose with this edit [34] using the edit summary "see talk". I mentioned my concerns about his on the aticles talkpage [35], and the other editors that commented there mostly agreed with my concerns. However, Coolcat refused to discusse his edit, and didn't leave any messages on the talkpage. Coolcat's only response to the concerns that I raised on the articles talk page was a revert with the editsummary "sockpuppet edits..." [36].

The antiwar.com article:

In the 'Antiwar.com' Coolcats first action was to list the more than half a year old article for speedy deletion [37], and delete all the internal links pointing to that article. I removed the speedy deletion tag mentioned my concerns on the talk page and asked Coolcat to list the article on VfD instead [38]

Recent PoV editing at Southeastern Anatolia Project:

Cool Cat has most recently been PoV editing at the Southeastern Anatolia Project article. He has moved some of the articles content...:

Completion of the Ilisu dam would cause the flooding of the ancient city of Hasankeyf whose history stretches back over 10,000 years.

Investigations by the Kurdish Human Rights Project (KHRP) claims that

widespread perception that the GAP project, and Ilisu in particular, is motivated primarily by a desire to destroy the Kurds as an ethnic group by destroying their most important cultural sites. [39]

Between 50 and 68 hamlets and villages will be flooded affecting approximately 25,000 local people. An additional 57 villages will have their land partially flooded.

Many villages have been evacuated at gunpoint by the Turkish authorities, and in many cases houses have been burnt to the ground.

....to a new section called "Conspiracy". [40] To claim that the above content is conspiracies is in my opinion a clear violation of NPoV, and Cool Cat has been reverting to insist on this change.

4 Feb[edit]

  • 08:23
    • Kurdistan Workers Party: Adds the observation " Actual organisation changed many names but the people that make up the organisation remain the same" to notes on the history of Kurdish paramilitary and political groupings. Refactors some paragraphs to remove or tone down suggestions (which were presented as fact) of a Turkish campaign of extermination and forcible evacuation. Some odd removals (eg:reference to human rights reforms in Turkey " which its Kurdish population will largely benefit." [42] [43] [44]

10 Feb[edit]

  • 22:26, Mar 17, 2005

Examples of Coolcat POV pushing under the banner of grammar correction.[edit]

March 26, 2005[edit]

He made various insignificant minor changes, to hide his real purpouses(which is hijacking the Armenian genocide refference).

  • From 10:58 to 11:08, 26 March 2005
    • He makes 11 repeated edits at Genocides in history [55], [56], [57], [58], [59], [60], [61], [62], [63], [64], [65]. In all those changes, Coolcat, hasn’t modified the content of the text within the article. After making all those edits, he end up, with what he wanted to get modified. [66]. He adds the term disputed before the word massacres, for the category covering Turkey. Then, [67], modify, and add to his hijacking of March 23 ( [68] ), also makes the reference to Greeks and Assyrian massacres in the Ottoman Empire invisible. But under pressure, he tries to revise himself a little bit. [69]
  • From 07:46 to 08:02, 26 March 2005
    • He makes 10 repeated edits at Armenia, starting with those: [70], [71], [72], [73], [74], then, he makes his most important change, not related to the Armenian genocide[75], one would have thought that he is interested about the Armenians beyond his "genocide deletion" war. But he revert his change, by calling it bad edit. [76]. He makes invisible, the Armenian progrom in Azerbaijan. [77]. And finaly, he ends up doing what he was after; he hijack, the Armenian genocide section. [78], and finish it all, by a minor edit. [79]

Examples of Coolcat getting rid of answers he don’t like by archiving them.[edit]

March 21, 2005[edit]

  • 02:56, 21 April 2005
    • archives Talk:Armenian Genocide; he dump my post made a day before his archiving, in that archive. And to make matter worst, that post in particular is about the last one in the list of those that were archived. Coolcat has tried to hide, my serious concerns over neutrality addressed to him, so that he does not answer it.

Coolcat attempt to discredit me by constant lobbying and mass defamation.[edit]

Joining Torque, with his baseless charges,

Contacted User:MacGyverMagic. [81].

Contacted User:Husnock. [82].

Contacted User:Carbonite. [86].

Contacted User:Jamesday. [87].

Contacted User:Tim Starling. [88].

Those are examples of how Coolcat lobbied finding any person to report. Of course, this excludes him contacted Torque, as well as others, I’ve stopped searching after I got ten people(Torque included). Hell knows how many others he contacted by IRC. Now, I ask the Arbcom, when have I done anything similar against Coolcat, I just relied to recognized bodies, like submitting a mediation request that was left unanswered.

But, this doesn’t end there. Coolcat in parallel to this, placed me at the bottom of his food chain, just above vandals etc. [89].

He even has a target list, which includes me and makes baseless charges [90] which I will address later.

Coolcat is dishonest[edit]

…and frequently lies about many issues, in a point that I can’t trust him anymore.

    • Less than a month later that day, Coolcat claimed to have lied when he claimed not knowing the subject. [120].
    • Coolcat has been also dishonest about himself. After claiming defending his Ottoman Turkish ancestors [121], he repeatedly lied about himself and his intentions.
    • He also, lied repeatedly, claiming that I have accused Tony of revisionism. When I brought those issues, Coolcat archived my concerns a day later. [122]. I will try bringing other examples, of Coolcat lying on members faces repeatedly and he’s being dishonest. I will stop for today.

  • According to edit counter, Stereotek made less then 1/20 of his edits on article talk pages[123]. This suggests that he does not communicate often.
