Michael Hardy[edit]

I would like to nominate Michael Hardy for adminship. He's been here since at least October 2002 (March 2002 if you count the page move bug) and has made over 12k edits. I checked a couple of times to make sure he wasn't already listed as an admin, and to my surprise he wasn't. He writes good articles and is helpful and friendly to others. • Support. Does some valuable work, very knowledgeable - but I'd like Michael to stick with some conventions like instead of visible inline comments, use HTML comments or the talk page. Dysprosia 06:48, 1 Dec 2003 (UTC)
  • Huh? You mean he isn't already? Support, of course. Michael can be terse to the point of rudeness, but he does an incredible amount of very tedious and absolutely essential copyediting work, always with care and accuracy, keeps a cool head, and he cooperates effectively with other workers. He will be a first-rate addition to the team. Tannin 08:08, 1 Dec 2003 (UTC)
  • Yep, support. --Menchi 08:34, 1 Dec 2003 (UTC)
  • Support, of course - thought he already was. Even checked history to see if he was just accidentally removed from the list somehow... Κσυπ Cyp   08:53, 1 Dec 2003 (UTC)
  • Support. Wanted to nominate, but had already nominated two others recently. --snoyes 17:08, 1 Dec 2003 (UTC)
  • Support of course. I'm astonished Michael isn't a sysop already. I always presumed he was. How did we miss out someone so obvious for so long? FearÉIREANN 22:10, 1 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Hello. I am flattered by the attention. Would such a status require me (or enable me) to actually do something? Michael Hardy 22:06, 1 Dec 2003 (UTC)

  • Support. Does a great job of correcting newbie mistakes. RickK 02:05, 2 Dec 2003 (UTC)
  • Support. (Even if superfluous given the above, apparently any user can comment!) Michael contributes excellent articles and constructive criticism. We have disagreed, and will (no doubt) continue to disagree, on a number of points of style, but such is the wonder of our diverse global society! Ben Cairns 02:17, 2 Dec 2003 (UTC)
  • Support. Michael will make a great sysop. Angela 04:26, 2 Dec 2003 (UTC)
  • Support. His command of the language is impeccable, this should make it even easier for him to fix things. - Hephaestos 15:45, 2 Dec 2003 (UTC)
  • Support, I also assumed he was an admin (I guess I assume anyone who has been here longer than me is an admin :)) Adam Bishop 17:15, 3 Dec 2003 (UTC)
  • Support. -- Heron 10:33, 4 Dec 2003 (UTC)
