Nomination[edit]
Methecooldude (talk · contribs) – As time goes on I'm looking at Wikipedia and thinking, I want to do more. So hence why I am requesting the mop. As detailed below, I hope to work more in the anti-vandal sector by quickly (but, of course, with care) resolving issues with vandals. Although this is quite an early day RfA, I wish voters to !vote fairly from what you have seem of me so far. Thanks. Rich(MTCD)T|C|E-Mail 21:24, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
P.S: On a side note, it's me-the-cool-dude. A common problem with my user name is that it's mis-read - Rich(MTCD)T|C|E-Mail 21:38, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Questions for the candidate[edit]
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. Please answer these questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: This answer is going to be a bit thin on the ground I'm afraid, because I can't claim any "awesome things". The only thing that springs to mind is keeping our good friend ClueBot NG running.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: There was an issue with Jerod Tate due to WP:COI but was requested to leave the issue to an administrator which I did without questions. If in the case that I was an administrator at the time, due to the uncertinies of that case, I would seek assistance from other admins to solve the problem.

Oppose[edit]
- Unless I'm mistaken, it appears you haven't created any articles, and have only participated in one deletion discussion. I suggest doing a little more work on the content side of things before requesting adminship. 28bytes (talk) 21:52, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Sorry, but you don't have very many edits, only have three months with a significant amount of contributions (which are not consecutive months), and have more user talk contributions than you have any other namespace. I'm not seeing anything other than a short stint of vandalism fighting to establish your credentials, and while vandalism fighting is no doubt important, more is needed for adminship. - Oppose I think that you are on the right track, and I certainly encourage you to give thought to another adminship attempt in the future. For the time being I'm going to have to say no, however. Your contributions are good, though I would like to see something more substantive than automated anti-vandalism edits (Not that there is anything wrong with that. By all means, continue that work, it is of absolute necessity to the community.) I'm not one to insist on any ridiculous quota of mainspace editing or article creation as a prerequisite to gaining the mop, but I would like to see a more comprehensive knowledge of administrator function. Take the following months to branch out a little bit, try different roles and get an understanding of what you are going to be doing once your next bid succeeds. I wish you the best of luck.
