I have no idea how long I've been here... I think it's under a year, since I got this comuter for NaNoWriMo 2004, but I digress. 600 odd edits to both the article and WP: namespaces. I use VfD often, stemming from everybody's favorite relaxation game, Newpages patrol. I was involved in the Iasson RfAr. What can I say? The mop has its call, and those of us who want the work answer...

  1. Oppose 1607 in 13 months isn't very impressive. But edititis isn't why I'm voting against you. You make it known that you are a deletionist. I can respect that.     Yeah, that's pretty much it. I don't want someone to become an admin, just so they can do around speeding up the deletion process. If he could do VfDs and Speedy Deletions without Admin, he shouldn't have answered the first question below with that answer. --Ryan 20:08, July 26, 2005 (UTC)
    Reading the answer now, I do see where you're coming from... and I don't really have too much of an answer. I'm not concerned with speeding up the deletion process, just closing the old ones. Copyright problems also interests me, if I could find the process for closing reports there. I'm not too involved in nastily contentious articles that might need protection... But I will read WP:AN and related and do what I can there, too.

    Humblefool's answer seems fairly reasonable, as VfD could certainly use more people interested in closing discussions. As for speedy deletion, I believe that it does not matter much wether the admin has a tendency to keep or delete articles; there will always be somebody ready to jump at your neck and treat you as if you had commited a federal offence in case you lean too much towards either tendency.     Nine months or not, I've seen 3000 edits in six months or less. But it's not fair to compare you to others. I understand all too well that there is life outside of Wikipedia, and we can't donate all our time to editting. I'm considering changing my vote to Neutral. I'll take a closer look at some of your work. I haven't seen you before, so I didn't have much to base my vote on.     After taking a look at some of the articles you've done substantial work on, I'm still not convinced you are ready for this task. Most of them were stubs or slightly expanded stubs. Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
A. Newpage vandalization, speedy deletion, Vfd closure, rollback (oo, rollback! The antivandal power!), the generic answer, I guess. I'm sure that I'd find something to do.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. For a while, I worked on the now defunct substub page, picking random articles and working them up. Abhijeet Sawant, Abiotic components, Adaptive structuration, Agrarian law, Amateur writing, Adam Opel, Amitava Kumar, etc. That was good, in my opinion. I enjoyed that process. Imageboard has been rolling for a while now too.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A.I firmly believe that too much wiki a wikiwacko makes. I promise that I'll never forget the point of the Wikipedia: that we're making an encyclopedia, not an argument. Content can always be worked out. Vandals don't bug me; the damage is undo-able. User:Iasson did bug me, but not in a terrible way. There is no problem in the wiki that should drive anybody committed to it away.
Feel free to ask me more questions if these answers seem a little, uh, vauge. I have trouble staying on topic sometimes, especailly to really broad questions.
