October 6[edit]

Cartoon character[edit]

These are animated characters of pictures that are said to talk but actually they don't talk it just voices of people from the sound studio connected to the animation program to look like it is taking. -- 41.115.125.22

Indeed, see Dubbing (filmmaking) for details. I don't think many people over the age of 5 really believe that the animated figures themselves are actually talking, see suspension of disbelief for the rest of us. Alansplodge (talk) 10:27, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There's a Monty Python bit where a cartoon character says that what came next in a story would have been prohibitively expensive to produce. Then he said, "You'll notice my mouth isn't moving either." The OP is advised to find some Clutch Cargo cartoons on YouTube and see a situation where their mouths are moving but nothing else is!Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 11:20, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's part of a tradition which predates animated film by many centuries; see puppeteer. Alansplodge (talk) 16:36, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I see no question being asked here. --184.144.99.72 (talk) 19:31, 6 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Would it make you feel better if someone replaced the trailing "." with a "?" ? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 03:12, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I feel fine but also then see no question being asked?  --Lambiam 09:06, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Revealing your IP address is not necessarily the most prudent thing to do. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 11:49, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
