Strange Magic was supposed to have a spin-off series?[edit]

I was reading the Strange Magic page on TV Tropes recently, and in an item mentioning the "Stillborn Franchise" trope it was mentioned that there were plans for a spin-off focusing on the characters Dawn and Sunny (plans that were, if they existed, probably shelved following the film's commercial and critical failure). TV Tropes doesn't give a source for this claim and a search I just did wasn't productive. Were there really such plans mentioned at some point by the film's staff, or were such plans made-up? For what it's worth, our article on the film makes no mention about this supposed spin-off. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 12:04, 26 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not seeing any such mention on the TV Tropes page (assuming I'm looking at the right one): can you provide a link?
Casual web-searching shows that there is a 2020 sequel Strange Magic 2. There is also a Strange Magic ebook series (or at least volume 1 of it) available on Kindle, but this is an entirely unrelated work that just happens to have the same title. Hope this helps. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.201.73.76 (talk) 11:24, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[Edit Conflict] Ah, I see. That appears to be one of 14 different 'Strange Magic' pages on TV Tropes: I had only looked at the top page that came up in a search there, which I wrongly assumed to subsume all the others.
I'm not familiar with the workings of TV Tropes, but as far as I can tell (from the page's History tab), that information was added by a TV Tropes user ("Troper"?) WilliamShakesman on Feb 4th 2020 at 11:32:29 AM. It appears one can message users, so perhaps you could ask him whence he got the information. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.201.73.76 (talk) 22:26, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I should clarify that the "sequel" mentioning in the Fandom link is not real. Indeed it's in a fandom called "Ideas" which makes me think it was made-up by the article writer as an idea but treated as if it were real. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 22:20, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for explaining the fictionality of "Ideas Wiki", which I had never seen before and assumed was factual when a websearch threw up that page. What a remarkably stupid concept, or at least presentation! {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.201.73.76 (talk) 22:26, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
