August 1[edit]

Suzi Yoonessi[edit]

I'm confused about Suzi Yoonessi. On the Internet, one source said she is single and without children. Another source said she is a wife and mother. Which one is right?2603:7000:8100:F444:78D0:5D2E:4FCD:D5D5 (talk) 10:39, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What are the sources? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 10:48, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Here are a few; [1], [2], [3], [4] and [5]. I hope those help. 2603:7000:8100:F444:78D0:5D2E:4FCD:D5D5 (talk) 12:24, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Except for the Huff Post article, I wouldn't consider any of the other reliable sources. You can ignore anything they say. --Jayron32 12:37, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
(ec) The first three are what I would call bullshit websites - these sites presumably generate their content by automatically grazing the internet without any intelligent being even looking at the data before they're published. The Huffpost link is dated February 2014 and implies that she married Spencer Crossland in January 2014. I don't see any reason not to believe that. The last link is dated October 2018 (interview date), and she mentions husband and kids. Enough time between 2014 and 2018 to spawn a couple of children. My conclusion would be: she has children and in 2018 she had a husband. You'll need to find newer data to tell whether she is still married in 2022. --Wrongfilter (talk) 12:39, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Where can I find that type of thing?2603:7000:8100:F444:D571:B2FF:E80:E9F1 (talk) 08:01, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Obviously, she's Schrödinger's filmmaker. Clarityfiend (talk) 06:53, 2 August 2022 (UTC) [reply]

Mafia in popular culture[edit]

Other than The Godfather, what other depictions of the Italian mafia are there in popular culture (especially in movies and video games)? 2601:646:8A81:6070:69DC:92A7:83:6D1 (talk) 12:57, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

See Category:Mafia films and all its sub-categories. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 13:00, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How about The Godfather II and The Godfather III? They might have some references to the Italian Mafia. 97.82.165.112 (talk) 13:02, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The Godfather Part 2 definitely does... In the flashback scenes of Vito Andolini (Corleone) and his childhood in Sicily, and his later return, it features the Sicilian Mafia. --Jayron32 18:01, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I included these in my original question, didn't I? 2601:646:8A81:6070:2D6C:77DE:AC34:80F5 (talk) 00:49, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You only asked about The Godfather, not the sequels, although they're all part of the same franchise. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 07:09, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you'll accept Italian-American Mafia, there's Empire of Sin (video game), and some others in Category:Organized crime video games.  Card Zero  (talk) 14:42, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I am staggered that we don't have a standalone article - the closest we have is a section at American_Mafia#In_popular_culture. That is obviously only a tiny sliver of the content that there should be. Hell, we have an article on Russian mafia in popular culture and one for the Italian-American mob would likely dwarf that handily. Matt Deres (talk) 19:32, 3 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The "article" on Russian mafia in pop culture is merely a haphazard list of works in popular culture in which some reference is made to Russian organized crime. It started as an "In popular culture" section in the Russian mafia article, a fairly typical trivia section, but was split off to a separate list article.  --Lambiam 15:42, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
