Has Winx Club been shown in People's Republic of China?[edit]

The Matrix[edit]

I am a big fan of The Matrix franchise, and I resaw the first movie. In one scene, after Morpheus tells Neo about the matrix, Morpheus says "When the Matrix was first built, there was a man born inside, who had the ability to change whatever he wanted, to remake the Matrix as he saw it". Since Neo doesn't "remake the Matrix as he sees it", who is Morpheus talking about? Is he talking about the Architect??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.239.172.228 (talk) 16:22, August 28, 2007 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure the Architect was an AI, not an enslaved person. I would rack it up to the writers not thinking of a sequel when it was written. Much how Obi Wan told Luke that Darth Vader killed his father.--24.249.108.133 17:18, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
in the trilo there is a mention at the end with Architect, saying that there were many versions made, 7th or 8th was the one we were watching. The Wachowski's may have tried to fit in the theory of Multiverse, multiple dimensions. Neo could be this first man, just as Shane could have lived or could have died at the end of the George Stevens 1953 film starring Alan Ladd as SHANE, come to think of it, I think Alan Ladd was the man born into the Matrix (what a BOGUS JOURNEY that would be) Specialagent777 21:44, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think "to remake the Matrix as he saw it" is what Neo does, as he is able to alter the Matrix as he sees fit, stopping bullets, flying and so on. At least a little bit SGGH speak! 14:46, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Funny you should mention Alan Ladd: his son was one of the important people in making sure Empire Strikes Back would end up still being owned and made by George Lucas. I say it's funny, because had that movie never been made by Lucas, we potentially never would have had Luke as Vader's son and would have had an altogether less great film. lincalinca 07:35, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All movies with Melissa Gilbert in them.[edit]

Hi, I am looking for a movie that Melissa Gilbert played in, shown on television in late 2005 to early 2006. My Mother said the name was Soul Catcher or something close to that. I have never used your site and appreciate any help or guidance. Perhaps there is a list of all the movies she played in. Thank you very much,scotty357 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Scotty357 (talkcontribs) 18:34, August 28, 2007 (UTC)

  • Try her IMDB listing here [1] - the film that would seem to fit the criteria is "The Soul Collector" - see [2]. Exxolon 19:14, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dire Straits Song?[edit]

So, I've been thinking of this one song for a while, and for the life of me I can't figure out who it's by or what it's name is...I would venture a guess it was on the same cassette as Dire Strait's take on the song "The Bug" (sometimes you're the windshield...), but I'm not sure if it's even by them. It was a sort of 12/8 shuffle feel, and the only lyrics I recall were about walking a girl up to the door, delivered in a Yes-style male harmony, and then the isolated lyric "He farts." Anyone have any ideas? It's driving me batty.72.219.143.150 19:46, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm musically retarded so the 12/8 time signature may be way off... but the first song that pops to mind based on the "walking a girl up to the door" statement is The Police's "Walking on the Moon". "The Bug" was on the album On Every Street and although I have this album, I can't think of where the walking a girl to the door reference would come in from any of the other songs. Sorry, that's not it...it was a bit faster, a bit thicker harmonically, and was defiinitely in 12/8.72.219.143.150 04:56, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps this parody of 'Sultans of Swing', 'Sulfurous Stink'? Natgoo 08:42, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What about "My Baby Don't Love Me" from The Language of Life by Everything but the Girl. I think it's 10 years since I've heard the song, but it seems to fit (I think I remember it being 12:8 and it definitely has lyrics to the right effect). lincalinca 07:45, 3 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
