keepretarget. (non-admin closure) Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 13:34, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
- Interracial mating → Interracial marriage (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
"Mating" and "Marriage" are not remotely the same thing. Unless a suitable target can be identified, this should be deleted. 192.76.8.66 (talk) 22:24, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- Comment interracial sex leads elsewhere; and another topic would be Miscegenation -- 67.70.25.80 (talk) 22:34, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- Retarget to Miscegenation. Rreagan007 (talk) 18:50, 1 August 2023 (UTC)
- Retarget to Miscegenation as seemingly most likely what this is supposed to be referring to. A7V2 (talk) 01:37, 2 August 2023 (UTC)

Durham City Council[edit]
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was disambiguate. (non-admin closure) Duckmather (talk) 22:37, 7 August 2023 (UTC)
- Durham City Council → City of Durham (district) (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Could just as easily redirect to Durham,_North_Carolina#Government. I don't think that a redirect to the former English city is warranted here, though I do wonder if a dab is appropriate for something like this. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 02:52, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- Durham City Council is ambiguous even in England and could refer to:
- The parish council of Durham, England (currently existing, although they call themselves City of Durham Parish Council)
- The district council of Durham (district) (1974-2009)
- The council of Durham and Framwelgate before 1974.
- Recommend a dab page. MRSC (talk) 03:42, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- Create a DAB page as recommended. Rreagan007 (talk) 18:49, 1 August 2023 (UTC)
- Weak disambiguate normally I'd say a 3rd order division's council should have priority over a 4th order, Worcester City Council, Lancaster City Council and Lincoln City Council do. But when (1) the district is abolished and (2) one of the 4th order divisions is much larger its probably best to disambiguate. Durham, NC's city council is a 4th order division council just like Raleigh City Council and Salisbury City Council. The parish council in England is also a 4th order division but interestingly its parish doesn't hold city status, see User talk:Stortford#Several questions. Durham and Framwelgate was an urban district (with borough status) meaning it didn't have a parish council but relied on the district council so was kind of similar to Independent city (United States) and was called just "Durham" sometimes. - Elizabeth Ambatukam Siddall → Elizabeth Siddal (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
This redirect was originally tagged as CSD G3 vandalism. I don't see how it's vandalism but I also don't understand how it is a valid name for this historic person. I did a search for "Elizabeth Ambatukam Siddall" and got no results. Liz Read! Talk! 02:20, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- Delete, salt, block pure vandalism, search for Ambatukam. —DIYeditor (talk) 02:28, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- Delete I helped bring this the Elizabeth Siddall article to Good Article status & have over 250 edits on the article. I have never encountered the string "Elizabeth Ambatukam Siddall" in any source. I think it is utter nonsense. Peaceray (talk) 02:54, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- Delete there is no such thing as "Elizabeth Ambatukam Siddall", the vandal added "ambatukam" there (which is euphemism for "i am about to cum (semen)") as a joke it seems like. It has no place in an encyclopedia, unless proven otherwise.
- Cactus Ronin (talk) 03:11, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanation, Cactus Ronin. No wonder this name didn't pop up in any of my searches. I'd delete this redirect myself but I already nominated it so that makes me involved. Liz Read! Talk! 18:55, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- Comment Taivorist commented in Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2023 June 15#Elizabeth Ambatukam Eleanor Siddall
I created the redirect, because at that time Ambatukam was in the article and the article itself was on main page in "Did you know ..." section. If I cannot trust main page articles, what can I trust? You see, correct answer is "you cannot trust anything in Wikipedia." I remember, that I was surprised, because this is not English name, but actually I do not know, is the name correct or not. Do as you want, but I do not feel myself guilty.
I will also note that "Ambatukam" was introduced with this edit & deleted 2 hours & 20 minutes later with this edit.
- @Taivorist: I can see by your contributions that you do a lot of good work with redirects, but I ask you to consider that anything that has been listed at "Did you know ..." is highly prone to vandalism. If you are not certain about the proper subject name, I would ask you to wait 24 hours & to use the "Did you know archive" (WP:DYKA) at Wikipedia:Recent additions. It is likely that most vandalism will be corrected by then. Peaceray (talk) 03:44, 31 July 2023 (UTC)

The result of the discussion was delete.
I do not understand why this redirect has not already been deleted. Peaceray (talk) 03:44, 31 July 2023 (UTC)- SALT and block anyone related to it. —DIYeditor (talk) 06:39, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- Speedy/SNOW delete and salt per above. Skynxnex (talk) 20:30, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- Delete, but some above need to get a grip. Taivorist explained the creation in the other discussion, there is no need to suggest any action be taken against them. A7V2 (talk) 01:35, 2 August 2023 (UTC)

Could also point to Curious George (film), a 2006 film in which he voiced a character, and where this pointed before yesterday. In any case, I don't think redirecting this to any particular film makes sense (there does not seem to be one film he's particularly known for), and it may well be better to leave this a redlink than to pick-and-choose. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 02:15, 31 July 2023 (UTC)
- Delete per nom, and since no plausible target for this exists. CycloneYoris talk! 00:02, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
