The result of the discussion was retarget International Insider, delete others.

Not mentioned at the target. Someone searching for information on these terms will not be able to find what they are looking for. -- Tavix (talk) 20:02, 24 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Relisting comment: For further consideration of Jay's proposal to retarget International Insider.

Galatan[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. plicit 23:34, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This is probably more plausible to be a misspelling of Gallatin, but seems like an unlikely misspelling for either, so delete. Mdewman6 (talk) 20:35, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Or Galatian. So yes, delete. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 21:15, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Delete. Term is ambiguous and none of the topics properly named "Galatan" are presently covered on Wikipedia. Searching online brings up a number of proper nouns which someone might plausibly search for. There are a couple of passing mentions on Wikipedia of a "Galatan school", mentioned at Iakovos Nafpliotis and Zheravna, but these mentions don't provide enough material to warrant a redirect. Better to vacate the title to allow unhibited searching and allow the creation of redlinks per WP:REDYES. Treating this as a misspelling is not appropriate when it's plausibly the correct name of some topics. – Scyrme (talk) 21:23, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - Plausible misspelling of too many potential subjects, so the target is not unambiguous. Let the search feature handle this one. Fieari (talk) 06:19, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per above: too many things this could refer to. InterstellarGamer12321 (talk | contribs) 17:06, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Green Day discography#Compilation albums. signed, Rosguill talk 19:47, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Green Day has two greatest hits albums, International Superhits! and Greatest Hits: God's Favorite Band. The redirect goes to neither, and should be either deleted, disambiguated or retargeted to Green Day discography#Box sets. Sincerely, Key of G Minor. The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was retarget to the respective U.S. president articles. (non-admin closure) J947edits 05:32, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Like The Great Communicator, I propose retargetting all of these to their corresponding presidents as valid alternate names- should Grand Old Man redirect to List of nicknames of prime ministers of the United Kingdom? Clearly not. Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 13:56, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Edward-Woodrow: these are all missing the RfD template. A7V2 (talk) 01:08, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • I have tagged them for you and notified the creator. A7V2 (talk) 01:16, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
      Smiley Sorry! I thought I had forgotten to do something but I couldn't remember what! Thank-you very much. Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 13:50, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget all to respective pages per nom. More helpful to users to target to the specific president rather than a broad list of them. WikiJoeB (talk) 05:22, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. signed, Rosguill talk 19:46, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hit Parade Italia and Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana are not the same company. According to WP:BADCHARTSAVOID, HPI is a hobbyist website that uses data to create fictional music charts. Neither FIMI nor Musica e dischi had a hand in creating these charts, so this redirect should either be retargeted to something more relevant or deleted altogether. The result of the discussion was retarget to Kristiansund. signed, Rosguill talk 19:45, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fosna is a former name of Kristiansund. I think this should be retargeted there, since that's what the word actually means. -- Maddy from Celeste (WAVEDASH) 12:04, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cannot find a relation between the redirect (which appears as a rectangle to me) and WP Apple Inc. According to a search at https://unicodeplus.com/ it is U+F8FF character. CX Zoom[he/him] (let's talk • {CX}) 08:55, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete sounds presumptuous and non-neutral. – John M Wolfson (talk • contribs) 17:46, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete both. While Balance puzzle does discuss solutions to the counterfeit coin problem, the exact phrase "definitive solution to the counterfeit coin problem" seems too specific to be a plausibly helpful redirect; it doesn't seem likely that a reader would choose this exact wording over some equivalent variation like "categorical solution", "general solution", "exhaustive solution", or even simply "(the) solution". Additionally, the article explicitly notes that some variations on the problem have "more than one solution" and that there are multiple "generalizations" of the problem. Unless I'm mistaken, the target doesn't appear to discuss a singular "definitive" solution. – Scyrme (talk) 21:38, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete both. These both appear to originate in someone trying to push original research into Wikipedia in 2007, and having it be deleted in 2010 as a copyvio of a document that appeared on arXiv in 2010 and may have done the copying in the other direction (rather than because it was OR); if you have access, see the deleted history, now elsewhere after a couple of page moves. But the OR remains in the titles of these two redirects. It has no good reason for continued existence. —David Eppstein (talk) 07:22, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Civil unrest in France[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to List of incidents of civil unrest in France. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 01:16, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This is waaay too generic to be a redirect to this one event. I would support a redirect to List of incidents of civil unrest in France. Hemiauchenia (talk) 01:02, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Other redirects with similar issues include France riots, French Riots, French rioting, Riot in france, French suburban violence and French urban violence which also redirect to the 2005 riots, which I have also added RfD notices pointing to this discussion. I would support redirecting the first four, but I think there is a good case for outright deleting the last two due to it being unlikely that anybody would look them up. Hemiauchenia (talk) 01:08, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Support': I was going to make this proposition myself; this is way too generic. Needs to be redirected to that list article. Paul Vaurie (talk) 17:38, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Hemiauchenia: I have added the other redirects to this discussion for you. A7V2 (talk) 01:21, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

deletion, name never used and redirect not in use. Epicamused (talk) 09:38, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Linkem S.p.A. was the former name. Wouldn't "Group" be a reasonable synonym for the Italian abbreviation S.p.A.? If not, delete. Otherwise retarget to OpNet since the current target Linkem is a redirect itself. Jay 💬 13:24, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Mohamed Sherif (disambiguation). Jay 💬 16:03, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The current redirect for this article is about a football player who was born in 1996, not 1994, and so this redirect should be deleted. Ben5218 (talk) 18:24, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: Per the nominated redirect's edit history, this redirect was created as a {{R from move}} with its former contents being moved to Mohamed Sherif (footballer, born 1993). Steel1943 (talk) 18:34, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Relisting comment: It looks like the situation is that amidst a history of shenanigans, there are two footballers who weren't born in 1994 but some people think they are, there's an unexplained move that could have been lost in the history of this article, and there are two dab pages (Muhammed Sharif), one of which is questionable. Bearing that in mind, there ain't a consensus yet...
