The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 21:29, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No mention of the MS on the page which it is redirected to...? Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 21:17, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Are you sure? It redirects to A. J. Smitherman and that article says In 1912 he established his own paper the Muskogee Star. TulsaPoliticsFan (talk) 21:22, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Tik Tok[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to TikTok. Clear consensus that the social media platform is the primary topic. (non-admin closure) Estar8806 (talk) 22:52, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Restore primary redirect to TikTok, one of the most viewed articles on Wikipedia and the most likely destination for this term. 162 etc. (talk) 16:47, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to TikTok.--Gen. Quon[Talk] 21:03, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to TikTok. That article also has a hatnote to the dab page so no issues on confusing our readers. --Lenticel (talk) 02:05, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to TikTok. Obvious primary target, and hatnote exists. Fieari (talk) 05:05, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak retarget to TikTok per above. Tik Tok (song) does manage to receive a 30th the pageviews of TikTok, however. J947edits 05:11, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sadly we don't have WikiNav specifically for "Tik Tok". https://wikinav.toolforge.org/?language=en&title=Tick_tock says that there were 1.4k incoming views, and 486 clicks were made to TikTok (~35%). It's the 4th entry in the first list there. Page views for the Tik Tok redirect show that in the same month there were 543 views, which could mean ~90%. In earlier months there's been a steady ~350 views of the redirect. Do we think that something changed last month? In any event, I think listing both 'tick tock' and 'tik tok' variations in the same list is a bit too confusing. Even if the pronunciation is probably the same, the spelling is different by two consonants, so I'm not sure that the claim that an average English reader will conflate the two carries more weight than the claim that the average English reader means the social network. --Joy (talk) 08:17, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to TikTok; undisputed primary target/topic. –Vipz (talk) 18:28, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was keep. Clear consensus to keep as a different capitalization. (non-admin closure) Estar8806 (talk) 22:54, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Delete these as redundant duplicates. Santiago Claudio (talk) 06:42, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep, cheap. Harmless; occasionally helpful. J947edits 07:13, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep all - Redirects are WP:CHEAP, and alternate capitalization systems (title case vs sentence case) are precisely the sort of thing that is useful to redirect. Fieari (talk) 05:07, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
