Tom k musau[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was soft delete. Based on minimal participation, this uncontroversial nomination is treated as an expired PROD (a.k.a. "soft deletion"). Editors can request the article's undeletion. plicit 10:34, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect was originally pointing to Tom K. Musau but somehow, through a series of page moves, it has become targeted to Raila Odinga, a politician and businessman with no connection to Musau. Tom K. Musau was deleted through a PROD and this redirect should have been deleted but because its target had been changed, it wasn't deleted and now needs to go to RFD to reaffirm that there is no connection between the redirect subject, an IT worker, and the subject of the target article, the former Prime Minister of Kenya. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 22:57, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. Nonsensical redirect, though the page history says this was created by moving the article to the current title. Should delete for searching. Natg 19 (talk) 22:16, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was speedy delete. CSD G8 Liz Read! Talk! 06:29, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Improperly formed disambiguator (missing the closing parenthesis). Would've wanted speedy deletion of this for the above reason, but none of the criteria in the speedy categories fit, so I'm bringing it here. MPFitz1968 (talk) 18:04, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Speedy Delete per nomination. My mistake. Pumpoffed (talk) 18:05, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can equally refer to Center (group theory), or other kinds of Center (algebra). 1234qwer1234qwer4 17:18, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The target can be Center (algebra). Charles Matthews (talk) 04:22, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. There is a mention of 'Funny Garbage' in the article; however, it is unsourced and non descriptive, and seem too unrelated to the redirect to be of any use Veverve (talk) 19:55, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect targeting where it currently targets seems misleading since not all flowering plants are herbs. Steel1943 (talk) 23:07, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

...And I just found out that Flowering plant has its own article. Interesting. Steel1943 (talk) 01:47, 5 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think Herbaceous plant is a better target. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 20:55, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak delete Seems to be an XY situation. Not all herbs are flowering plants (e. g. ferns), not all flowering plants are herbs (e. g. trees), and neither of the two pages have a dedicated section on flowering herbs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Felix QW (talkcontribs) 21:07, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete to defer to search results. Enwiki does not seem to have a good section discussing "flowering herbs" specifically. Several articles could plausibly have content users would be seeking with this term. Mdewman6 (talk) 01:01, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Turgai Sea. plicit 12:13, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This seems to be more likely to be an alternative name of the Aral sea (see this, or to point to a former sea that might be better described in an article on the hydrologic history of Russia. But this isn't the Caspian sea. — Ⓜ️hawk10 (talk) 02:31, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Retarget to Turgai Sea. According to the entry "Ural Sea" of Oxford UP's Dictionary of Earth Sciences, this is a synonym of the former Turgai Sea. I added a mention and cite there. Felix QW (talk) 12:43, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I made a mistake. Instead it should be redirected to Turgai Sea.TAC PlazaMaster (talk) 01:07, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
