Avril treizieme[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. My Google translate tells me Suppression, Supprime, Supprimer all indicate delete. Jay (talk) 07:33, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned at the target, and not an accurate translation: avril treizieme means April 13th in French (moreover, as 14th is English; the correct written out name would be "Avril fourteenth"). Delete unless a justification can be provided. signed, Rosguill talk 20:36, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Suppression En effet, la traduction est incorrecte. En plus, c'est une forme erronée... (in French, dates don't have an ordinal, and it's in the reverse order, and numbers above 10 are not usually spelt out) RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 21:32, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Supprime-le C'est << avril 14e >> (avril 14e / avril le 14e / le 14e d'avril) ou <<avril le quatorzième>> / <<le quatorzième d'avril>>-- 65.92.246.142 (talk) 23:52, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Pas tout à fait, mais bon... RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 01:05, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Supprimer selon le Canadien au hasard. Et pour vous, 65, voilà: « ». -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 00:00 Mars seizieme 2022 (UTC)
@Tamzin: A more idiomatic translation would be "Canadien quelconque" or "Canadien aléatoire". I know, even in the best of cases, translation is always a treason. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 01:05, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@RandomCanadian: Mmm, my French gets worse the longer I spend away from D.C. But it gets muddled all the more because lately I've been spending a lot time speaking Toki Pona. And in Toki Pona, for what it's worth, the phrase for "random Canadian"—jan Kanata nasa—is the same as the phrase for "crazy Canadian". :D The good kind of crazy, though. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 04:27, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Created by mistake. I meant to create the article as a user draft, but missed the word "User:" off the front. Moved the article, but in the process it created this redirect which is not needed. Gronk Oz (talk) 13:23, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Austin Kyffin-Taylor[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. Liz Read! Talk! 02:28, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I can see no reference to the double-barrelled version in the article, and Google brings nothing. Delete? Laterthanyouthink (talk) 08:41, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. Google has patchy coverage this far back, so I am not surprised that it threw a blank. However, his brothers were William Kyffin-Taylor, 1st Baron Maenan and Gerald Kyffin-Taylor, so the Kyffin prefix appears to be a variant of the family name. It would have been helpful if the nominator had checked this as part of their WP:BEFORE, just by looking at the linked article on his father William Taylor (Archdeacon of Liverpool).
Unfortunately I no longer have access to the newspaper archives to allow me to check further, but a google search for "Kyffin-Taylor" throws up fragments such as [1], [2]. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 11:51, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: WP:AGF that BHG wouldn't have created this redirect out of thin air, and if it was in her sources then it's a potentially useful redirect. PamD 18:44, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Have now added a mention of his double-barrelled brother, with ref - it's reasonable to expect that the brother of Gerald K-T would be Austin K-T so the redirect should be kept. PamD 08:15, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Western leftism[edit]

I'm not sure the target page can be considered the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC or that it's a neutral destination. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 07:06, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment the target notes this redirect in a hatnote and suggests readers might be interesting in the general left-wing politics article. Google results show the current target to be the single most common thing referred to, but nowhere near primary topic over various different leftist groups/people/ideologies/parties in the cultural West with exact meaning depending heavily on context. I need to think more about this. Thryduulf (talk) 09:32, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Keep and tag as {{r from hypernym}}. "Western leftism" is an extremely vague concept whose meaning is the combination of the literal meanings of its parts. It is not an idiom, whereas "baizuo" is: Western leftism (Chinese political jargon). Unless we can we can identify other idioms attaching to the phrase, this is the way. The result of the discussion was retarget to Reg Revans#Legacy. MBisanz talk 01:40, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I came across these redirects from a rather confusing hatnote at Revans University. However, my confusion was not alleviated by the target articles. Revans is not even mentioned there! Reg Revans#Legacy is slightly more helpful, but I am concerned that paragraph is unreferenced and full of puffery. Unless anyone is willing to untangle this web, I think deletion would be best. -- Tavix (talk) 15:48, 28 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. Liz Read! Talk! 02:25, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Delete if possible. Article's subject has no connection to the series it redirects to. One IMDb page exists that does not list the series among this person's credits. No mention in the target article. No notability for the subject other than 10-11 credits listed on IMDb. No awards or nominations. No reason to keep this that I can find. — Paper Luigi TC 00:03, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. Since there is no RS to support this (IMDB is not a reliable source), this is not that far from being an unverifiable hoax. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 02:07, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
