The result of the discussion was keep per WP:SNOW. Basically withdrawing my own nomination. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 23:10, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't this be retargeted to Bullshit instead of targeting the DAB? CycloneYoris talk! 23:53, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep as is there are multiple things on the dab page that are or can be "Bs" and (as near as can tell from a case insensitive search engines) there is no primary topic among them. Thryduulf (talk) 00:37, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Could just as well refer to .bs, bs (programming language), the Bosnian language, or probably a few others. -- Tamzin (she/they) | o toki tawa mi. 00:47, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Too ambiguous to target to any particular article. Jay (Talk) 05:09, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep several potential targets are already covered in the dab. There's no evidence that bullshit is the primary target --Lenticel (talk) 06:32, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Because I work in academia, my first thought for "Bs" is bachelor of science. Targeting BS is always good with something so ambiguous. Nyttend backup (talk) 21:53, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fuck (monograph)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Delete the second, no consensus on first. signed, Rosguill talk 23:00, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unlike the article/paper nomination below, in this case the disambiguation is at least correct: Fuck: Word Taboo and Protecting Our First Amendment Liberties is indeed a monograph. That said, I don't see any reliable sources referring to is such, and there's lots of semi-obscure terms for a work that we could use as disambiguators but don't. Delete, more strongly in the case of the nonstandardly-formatted one. -- Tamzin (she/they) | o toki tawa mi. 08:24, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, plicit 13:12, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - per nom. And like you said, we could also make a page at Fuck (treatise), Fuck (discourse), &c. But just because it is technically accurate does not mean a DAB is needed (no one is searching for this - both pages have 112 views combined since July 2015). Forgivably, someone was over-zealous in making redirects for this target, but they should now be put to rest. ‡ El cid, el campeador talk 18:16, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete both: unnecessary & unlikely search term. --K.e.coffman (talk) 16:51, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep the first one. (The second is a bit implausibly formatted.) In what sense is this not a monograph? All normal publications (which this is) are monographs or serials, or are components of them. Merely the existence of an ISBN demonstrates that it's a monograph — if it were a serial, it would have an ISSN — as well as the fact that WorldCat lists it as a print book, not a serial of any sort. Barring cataloguing errors, anything listed in WorldCat as a print book or electronic book is a monograph. Nyttend backup (talk) 21:57, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I think everyone's in agreement that this is a monograph. The question is if we need a redirect that uses this qualifier, when it's a fairly niche term that as far as I can tell no one's ever applied specifically to this particular book nor to the paper that preceded it. It's WP:COSTLY to maintain too many redirects from synonyms that readers are unlikely to use as qualifiers. -- Tamzin (she/they) | o toki tawa mi. 22:09, 3 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No one? As I said, go to WorldCat: this is the standard way to refer to it, not a niche term. Nyttend backup (talk) 10:36, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep the first, delete the second: the latter one is not formatted properly, but the former is a reasonable descriptor with an unambiguous target (among subjects we have articles on). — Bilorv (talk) 19:30, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose Curry's is linked in the target, nomination doesn't provide sufficient justification for the change. Polyamorph (talk) 07:59, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak delete. Generally, I don't see nonstandardly-capitalized disambiguators as worth redirecting, unless they're getting substantial pageviews (which this very much is not). -- Tamzin (she/they) | o toki tawa mi. 18:43, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep entirely harmless {{R from move}}. The article was a this title for the first three months of its existence. Thryduulf (talk) 23:34, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. There is no reason to move. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 11:30, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Tagging nom as a sock. I realize that if I struck my !vote that would make this eligible for a speedy close, but I'm afraid I do stand by it. -- Tamzin (she/they) | o toki tawa mi. 01:05, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strong keep. Why would we change a redirect target from an article that deals with the subject specifically to a broader one? Note this is a {{R from move}} - the target as at this title for about 3 months. Thryduulf (talk) 23:36, 1 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
