Taylor Swift is not known mononymously, nor would she be the primary topic for singers with the name Taylor (it probably depends on your generation, but James Taylor also makes a strong case). -- Tavix (talk) 23:28, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

African American list[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Retarget the first two to Lists of African Americans, and disambiguate Shitlist. Almost all participants agree that retargeting the first two is a better alternative to deletion. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 06:52, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Delete all. The first two were created by a 2-edit troublemaker, but I supposed they've been allowed to linger too long for a speedy deletion. The latter was created by an editor blocked in 2010, and their edit summary nonracialist terminology synonymous with the term 'blacklist' shows why it should never have been created. Maybe somone will create the redirect block list soon. wbm1058 (talk) 23:05, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget the first two to Lists of African Americans. Keep the third as a valid {{r from synonym}} (see wikt:shitlist). (see below for update) - Eureka Lott 23:20, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget the first two to Lists of African Americans per above. Not really sure about "Shitlist". I don't think it's really synonymous with blacklist, one is a group who've been banned from an action or group, the other is a group of people who've annoyed someone else. It's also the name of what seems to be a fairly notable song by the band L7 from their album Bricks Are Heavy, apparently it was used in a few films and the like in 90's? 86.23.109.101 (talk) 23:46, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • The proposed DAB page looks reasonable so I support disambiguating "Shitlist". 86.23.109.101 (talk) 17:41, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @EurekaLott and 86.23.109.101: Regarding your retarget solution – that's not a standard search term – one of these is not like the others. – wbm1058 (talk) 01:25, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete all. "Shitlist" is not synonymous with blacklisting, and certainly not within the meaning of the actual article. ("Blacklisting is the action of a group or authority, compiling a blacklist (or black list) of people, countries or other entities to be avoided or distrusted as being deemed unacceptable to those making the list.") As for the first two, I agree with wbm1058 on deleting rather than retargeting. Adumbrativus (talk) 06:01, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • Update: For Shitlist, I concur that Eureka Lott's disambiguation page is reasonable. Adumbrativus (talk) 08:30, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget first two per above as plausible alternate search terms; delete third because shitlist is not a synonym for blacklist. I checked dictionary.com, Meriam Webster, and Collins: they give different definitions and I didn't see a cross reference; I don't trust wikt as an RS because it's user-generated :-). Note: I was canvassed here by wbm who promised to give me perms if I supported.[just kidding] Levivich harass/hound 22:19, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • Updated !vote to disambiguate shitlist per below with thanks to Eureka. Levivich harass/hound 06:17, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget the first two to Lists of African Americans as a plausible search term per above, and delete disambiguate Shitlist because it and a blacklist are two different things as the 86 IP argues above me. There's also a bunch of other things it can refer to. Regards, SONIC678 22:39, 18 February 2021 (UTC), updated 01:21, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Note: I just drafted a disambiguation page at Shitlist. Changing my !vote to disambiguate. - Eureka Lott 06:08, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • The dab is OK. That could have been created on top of the deleted redirect. wbm1058 (talk) 14:28, 23 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget the first two, and disambiguate the third, per the editors above. --Tryptofish (talk) 21:09, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. The French Revolution of 1848 was clearly not in 1748, and 1748 is not mentioned in the article, and there's nothing at Timeline of French history to indicate why it would be. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 19:49, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete this type of typo redirect is misleading. Elliot321 (talk | contribs) 19:54, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete both per nom. The most plausible target would be a French Revolution of 1748, but no notable revolutions took place in France in that year. Regards, SONIC678 20:42, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete both per nom. These redirects are implausible typos and are more likely to confuse readers than help them, as there was a French revolution that occurred in the 18th century. Typing "French revolution 17" into the search bar brings up both the actual event (French Revolution of 1789) and theses two redirects that take you to an event in a completely different century. 86.23.109.101 (talk) 22:02, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned at target. Geopedia redirects to Online map services of Slovenia, so maybe retarget that there, too? 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 19:10, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unlikely search term due to the unusual capitalisation, unnecessary hyphenation and broken English sentence structure. This redirect is also ambiguous, it doesn't nessasarily refer to the final solution but could also refer to Nazi ideology. 86.23.109.101 (talk) 18:02, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A minor symbol from the Warhammer 40,000 universe not mentioned at the target or anywhere else in the encyclopaedia. There was an article here for about a month in 2009, but it was entirely unsourced and I don't think it would have any chance of surviving an AfD nomination. It did receive some page views due to being listed on Imperial Eagle (disambiguation), but I removed that link, as a dab link to a page that does not mention an imperial eagle is useless on the imperial eagle dab page. 86.23.109.101 (talk) 17:12, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Baneblade[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. signed, Rosguill talk 00:34, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect used to point to a section of Vehicles of the Imperial Guard in Warhammer 40,000, which was deleted in 2011 following this AfD nomination. The Baneblade is not mentioned in the main warhammer 40,000 article, but there is a mention at Imperial Guard (Warhammer 40,000)#Equipment describing it from an in universe perspective, and a section at Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse describing the model. Should this target one of those two sections, stay as is (fixing the broken section link) or be deleted to allow uninhibited search results? 86.23.109.101 (talk) 16:21, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A vehicle from the warhammer 40,000 universe that is not mentioned at the target article or anywhere else in the encyclopaedia as far as I can tell. The article content in the page history was eventually merged to Vehicles of the Imperium in Warhammer 40,000, which was deleted in 2011 following this AfD nomination, leaving these redirects without a target. 86.23.109.101 (talk) 15:18, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You 2[edit]

The result of the discussion was retarget to You Two. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 06:40, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Because this redirect is ambiguous with You Two and You Too, I don't know how plausible this misnomer is. I suggest deleting this redirect per WP:XY unless justification can be provided. Seventyfiveyears (talk) 12:48, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. This redirect is ambiguous and may cause confusion. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 20:06, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to the dab page at You Too which lists everything this plausible homophone error could refer to. Thryduulf (talk) 12:50, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to You Two as the only correct option for this redirect, everything else would be a homophonic error. 2 = Two, but 2 ≠ Too. Likewise You ≠ U. For those looking for other homophones, the hatnote has all the options. -- Tavix (talk) 14:49, 18 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. News.ru and NEWSru.com are unrelated. Derise (talk) 11:37, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete per nom. These do appear to be two different news sites and this URL is not mentioned in the target article. 86.23.109.101 (talk) 14:49, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
