Recommend deletion unless a better target can be found. The target article no longer claims the term as a synonym and a WP:BEFORE search failed to find any evidence of such. SpinningSpark 14:23, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Soft redirect to Wiktionary wikt:thinking cap. All I can find on Wikipedia is partial title matches like Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl, partial title matches for synonyms (Six Thinking Hats) and specific examples of thinking caps/people who use them (e.g. Thinker (DC Comics)) but nothing that would even make it on to a disambiguation page. It's clearly a useful search term though, especially for non-native speakers encountering specific examples. Thryduulf (talk) 15:33, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned at target, and could also refer to an E number. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 11:42, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to E number, which identifies E384 as isopropyl citrate (redlinked). Tag as {{R with possibilities}}, which would make the circular redirect in E number permissible (rather than wildly misleading, as it currently is). Narky Blert (talk) 12:03, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget as well, because right now it is more useful pointing to E number (given that an E number assignment to isopropyl citrate actually exists) than to E series of preferred numbers. If the E384 series for resistors will be officially introduced in the future, this can still be changed into a disambiguation page again. --Matthiaspaul (talk) 13:01, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest retargeting to Google Pixel as title implies a more general topic. FYI this was created from a page move, most of the links from mainspace were transcluded from a couple of navigation templates, which I have since fixed. The remaining links are probably split, but some are clearly intended to refer to Google Pixel, such as Google Lens - CHAMPION (talk) (contributions) (logs) 07:20, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was withdrawn. Since I agree with all of the keep voters. I guess this redirect is not as implausible as I thought. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 22:58, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Previous RfDs for this redirect and similar redirects:

I still don't understand why this redirect was created if there is absolutely no trace of any hurricane named "Henriette" on the 2001 Pacific hurricane season article. I strongly support deletion since there's no reason for this redirect to exist and it was obviously created in error. CycloneYoris talk! 06:56, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete; no such named storm. Hurricane Henriette exists as a disambiguation page for anyone who needs it, implausible that anyone would be searching with (2001) disambiguation. wjematherplease leave a message... 09:13, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep, possibly speedily given how soon the previous discussion ended. Hurricane is a very plausible misnomer for tropical storms. Redirects don't have to be technically accurate so long as they are not misleading or confusing, and I don't think someone using this redirect would be confused or disappointed where they end up. This particular storm was "strong" for a tropical storm, and it was closely related to and interacted with Hurricane Gil. For usage outside of Wikipedia, here is one example. -- Tavix (talk) 17:13, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • But that was exactly how I discovered this, I looked it up on the search bar and was disappointed when I found out it was only a tropical storm; that’s the reason why I feel so motivated for nominating this redirect. Though I agree the storm did merge with Hurricane Gil and it is sort of plausible because of that. CycloneYoris talk! 20:06, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
      • However, because of this redirect you were able to easily find out the proper status of the storm in question, which is a good reason for the redirect to exist. -- Tavix (talk) 21:36, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
        • I agree with you on that. Still, I think this redirect is kind of misleading and I want to prevent the occasional reader from any sort of confusion. CycloneYoris talk! 23:02, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
          • Confusion is unlikely given that the reader will be taken to a page that will educate them about the situation, something a redlink cannot do. Thryduulf (talk) 23:11, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Tavix. A very plausible misnomer, misunderstanding or misremembering so a very plausible search term. However correct the section target to "Tropical Storm Henriette". Thryduulf (talk) 17:30, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Tavix. A plausible title. Redirects are cheap. Natg 19 (talk) 19:05, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Retarget to Hurricane Henriette. Keeping this redirect will be very confusing for many people. For the same caveat, we do not redirect Lorentz to Lorentz transformation. --Soumya-8974 talk contribs subpages 13:11, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per above. Redirects like this are cheap n harmless. --Soumya-8974 talk contribs subpages 13:13, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep but amend to the correct subheading. We have many redirects from misspellings and misnomers. It is more helpful to send the reader to the place they are probably looking for than to refuse to serve the article until they learn the proper terminology. If a user has typed the 2001 disambiguator, or picked it from the drop down list, then they are looking for a storm in 2001, not the disambiguation page. I do think that users should be given better visibility that they are being redirected from a misspelling/misnomer, but that is a much wider problem to address. • If anyone is interested in making an article on the Yiddish film, the AFI catalog entry is here. Beyond My Ken (talk) 20:12, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. No practical or policy-based reason to delete, potentially breaking links we can never find. It's very flattering to think that a hypothetical reader will conclude that, because we have a redirect from this title to the article in question, we must know that the film was really made in 1934. But we're not a reliable source so every Wikipedian would know otherwise. (;-> And most readers will read the article not just the redirect title. Andrewa (talk) 06:46, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. I believe the policy-based reason is #5 here, "The redirect makes no sense". It does not make sense to have a redirect to a completely different film. Natg 19 (talk) 01:37, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
