Should normally be speedy if it wasn't missed due to article being orphan. In Devanagari script, created by an editor now banned for creating articles in Devanagari script; next day moved to its English name and translated into English. It is not plausible that anyone would search for लोलेसरा on English Wikipedia (and for this reason we don't normally keep redirects from other scripts on enwiki, except when the foreign script is widely used in English). — kashmīrī TALK 18:31, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. ~ Amory (utc) 21:04, 1 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Delete: A not-particularly-plausible typo for MOS:BLPLEAD; "WP:PLB" and "MOS:PLB" don't exist (but could at any time, with no connection to BLP), and PLB (disambiguation) indicates many meanings of "PLB", none of which are [yet] the subjects of MoS guidelines or other "Wikipedia:"-namespace material.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  11:05, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep?: I'd say it's a plausible typo…because it's one I made several times, sometimes in edit summaries. 🙄 If some Wikipedia-related meaning of "PLB" ever arises, this should certainly make way for it, but until then I'd keep it. Having said that, I'm not particularly well versed in redirect policy. I won't be offended no matter what is decided. —jameslucas ▄▄▄ ▄ ▄▄▄ ▄▄▄ ▄ 16:34, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Typoes from initialisms are often more confusing than helpful, and I don't see why this one would be an exception. -- Tavix (talk) 16:31, 24 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. I agree with Tavix on this occasion. While there are exceptions they need to be both very common and unambiguous to be good redirects, especially when (as here) the intended audience of the target is editors with at least some experience. Now this is presently unambiguous, but I don't see any evidence this is common. If the edit summary is recent and your typo is not discoverable from the context of the edit then the best course of action is just to make a white-space only edit and correct your edit summary. Delete: A not-particularly-plausible typo for Wikipedia:SURNAME; it looks more like a mangled reference to Suriname.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  10:47, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. There is clear consensus that this is not an alternative name for the target and that this is not otherwise useful as a redirect to that page. Much of the discussion however focused on the content that was previously here and the potential for it to be expanded - article content is not within RfD's remit, however all the content that was here was added by a blocked user and sockpuppets it would be speedy deletable under criterion WP:CSD#G5. This, combined with the consensus regarding that content being clear means I don't think a procedural AfD nomination is in the best interests of the project on this occasion, but if anyone disagrees with this you don't need my permission to take it to that venue. Thryduulf (talk) 10:36, 1 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect exists because of the actions of user who was apparently trying to promote this alternative name for the village using sockpuppets. I can't find any evidence that the village is known by this alternative name. Cordless Larry (talk) 08:02, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Sonitpur district. I'm also unable to find any connection between the two names in RS, and the RS that I can find all place it in Sonitpur, a separate district in Assam. It might be possible to find sufficient RS to create a stub, but it must be a very small village. TMGtalk 08:30, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Only finding user-generated sources for any place by that name in Assam. Also finding listing for schools named Gamiripal, but there is no clear target. • Gene93k (talk) 13:28, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment There are a few RS, for example these two local govt docs. But per WP:STUB, a stub needs to be capable of expansion into an article, and it does seem unlikely that this will ever go beyond a stub using RS alone. So maybe you're right. Or maybe other editors can succeed where I've failed on the RS. TMGtalk 16:42, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.

The result of the discussion was delete. -- Tavix (talk) 23:40, 30 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

BLP name redirects to a page where the subject is not mentioned. This was a result of the AfD here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sabrina Johnson. However, the present article does not mention her, so a redirect is not appropriate and possibly BLP violating. K.e.coffman (talk) 02:50, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Does not appear in target article and no evidence it has anything to with target. Plus strange punctuation. UnitedStatesian (talk) 00:03, 22 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
