The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was keep. Few hours early but I think we can call it. ~ Amory (utc) 17:07, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible search term. The name of the article, How to Make a Spaceship is already in it. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 22:40, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Weak keep as a {{R from unnecessary disambiguation}}, considering that the target article's subject's author is Julian Guthrie. Steel1943 (talk) 18:39, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep highly plausible search term (or do you not ever search for books?). The author is Julian Guthrie, and the title is generic. If anyone is expecting a how-to guide to exist on Wikipedia (as we have a deletion requirement for How-To-Guides, it's not unlikely for people to think they exist on Wikipedia, or create them), then it's not unlikely for someone to punch in the author's name as well. Further, I would expect that people would search this way, since they do that on Amazon for books using the author and the title together. Also WP:CHEAP; -- 70.51.203.56 (talk) 03:54, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - It's improperly formatted, yes, but it still seems reasonably useful. It's a plausible thing for people to type out as they search. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 03:54, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Definitely a plausible redirect. The author's name helps refine searches to the book people are looking for. 184.254.147.65 (talk) 04:31, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Obviously plausible search term for anybody who's ever gone looking for a book. Besides, the nominator seems determined to stray as close as possible to dickishness without ever quite crossing the line. -- BobTheIP editing as 88.111.202.102 (talk) 11:21, 28 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Don't see why this redirect should be deleted; in fact, it's much needed! 2600:1:B156:732C:4803:F512:42BC:AB5C (talk) 19:23, 28 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. Unopposed. Besides, google suggests... other uses ~ Amory (utc) 01:27, 30 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible redirect. Also redirects to another redirect. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 22:18, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: The double redirect was bypassed by the redirect's creator shortly after this nomination was started. In effect, I have updated the nomination's appearance to reflect the redirect's current target. Steel1943 (talk) 17:44, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not a strong enough connection between the redirect and the target. -- Tavix (talk) 16:14, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • What is the connection? Why isn't it in the target article? If it can't be stated in the target article then the redirect is useless so delete. SpinningSpark 16:24, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • According to some people, the song makes a dududududu sound. -- Tavix (talk) 16:31, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
      • Ok, but we should only have redirects to things that we actually have information on, and we don't in this case. SpinningSpark 18:16, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hahaha that was a joke you can delete it.  Nixinova  T  C  19:49, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not necessary redirect. Person who created article meant Altoona, not Atlanta. ...William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 16:12, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was procedural close. The article has been created. -- Tavix (talk) 13:34, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Delete per WP:REDLINK. I also feel this redirect might end up being a WP:SURPRISE for someone wanting something along the lines of 2016 in Sudan. -- Tavix (talk) 14:47, 22 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Cascade connection (capacitors)[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. ~ Amory (utc) 01:29, 30 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Misconceived redirect based on a statement in 1911 Britannica [1]. I've removed the material from the target article. It used to say series connection is "now commonly known as cascade connection". First of all, that is not true. The common meaning of cascade connection is something different entirely. Secondly, even if it is an archaic synonym of "series connection" it should be redirected to series and parallel circuits and explained there. But I doubt that is the case either, the source says "charging in cascade" which is subtly different from "cascade connection". Certainly by the 1920s "series connection" was the widely used term in all the historic papers I've got, and I've written a lot of articles about electrical networks of the period.
