So Help Me God (album)[edit]

The result of the discussion was keep. --BDD (talk) 14:25, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect has previously been deleted. A draft exists at Draft:So Help Me God (album) which already has a large history. Creating this redirect means that when it comes to the draft being moved back to mainspace, this redirect would either have to be deleted then, or an admin would have to perform a history merge and move with this article and the draft. No need for this redirect to exist, especially when a draft exists. People involved need to calm down. The album doesn't even have a release date and album titles can change last minute.  — ₳aron 09:50, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. The redirect serves a purpose. The previous redirect was deleted because it directed to the Draft space instead of an article in the main space. It is totally normal to redirect album titles to artist articles. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:42, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thousands of people are using the redirect, so clearly the page serves a purpose until the draft can be moved to the main space. I would argue that we should go ahead and move the draft so people can have access to this information and improve the article. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:46, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm 'a let u finish, but there is no reason to clear the way in mainspace for a draft that will be promoted eventually. Keep - redirects from unreleased album titles to their artists are very common. When the draft is ready, it can easily be moved over the redirect. Ivanvector (talk) 23:09, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Another Believer. (Ivanvector, I wonder how this discussion would progress if the redirect was the title of an album by Taylor Swift or Bush. I guess then my vote would have to be "retarget to Beyoncé.") Steel1943 (talk) 23:14, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Interjection: Bush X where I'm from. Ivanvector (talk) 23:20, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
...And then: this happened. Steel1943 (talk) 23:26, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep the draft is not in mainspace, so does not qualify as reader content. When the draft is moved into mainspace, it can overwrite the redirect when an admin moves the draft to being live. As there is no indication the draft is being proposed to go live, the redirect should remain. -- 70.51.200.101 (talk) 06:50, 5 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as a placeholder because article is not ready yet, per many above. If it is deleted now then people won't be get at least somehow related content when they look for that, which would be harmful.

The result of the discussion was keep. Only rarely do I find that a numerical minority has the stronger arguments, but I find that's the case here. Though probably an unlikely search term, this redirect is very old and, based on the fact that it derives from misreading of the letters on the item, it does seem likely that such a mistake could be made again. The {{R from misspelling}} tag will at least tag it as unprintworthy. --BDD (talk) 14:24, 11 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This redirect has existed since 2004, but as has been pointed out in an attempt to speedy delete it, the redirect is misspelled in the German language. In any event, seems too cumbersome to be a useful redirect. Safiel (talk) 02:29, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm the user who marked it for speedy deletion. Looking at it closer, it appears that the strange spelling is an attempt to transscribe the glyphs on old book's title page. It does no respesent a probable misspelling of the modern language. MSUGRA (talk) 09:45, 5 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. ((edit conflict)) Harmless, has history. Si Trew (talk) 10:01, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep {{R from page move}}, not recent. Certainly unwieldly but apparently a plausible misspelling (since someone did). Ivanvector (talk) 22:55, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong Delete. This is ridiculous. It should be deleted due to the fact that this is a completely implausible search term. It is completely useless to Wikipedia. If we were to keep this, then there would exist reason to create hundreds of redirects like this due to the misspelling or variation of any of the 19 words here. How is this redirect helping anyone? If someone were to (improbably) type this outrageously complex phrase into a search bar, they would still find what they are looking for. Tavix |  Talk  02:02, 6 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Save history, delete redirect by renaming to Great Complete Encyclopedia of All Sciences and Arts and deleting the resulting redirect. The numerous implausible errors (vollsätndiges, Knste, bishero) and the ludicrous length, and not to mention that the errors aren't even English errors. Renaming to the English translation will preserve the history and create a plausible redirect from the English translation. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 06:15, 6 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
