Killtacular[edit]

Not mentioned on target page. Also, the redirect has an edit history that probably would not pass an AfD if nominated as an article. Steel1943 (talk) 05:49, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete lots of videogames have spectacular kills, large kill counts, etc. -- 67.70.35.44 (talk) 06:05, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete "Killtacular" is but one achievement for some of the Halo games. Not particularly notable there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hisashiyarouin (talkcontribs) 09:39, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as non-notable and vague gaming term.--Lenticel (talk) 07:03, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. When I first read the title, genuinely I assumed it was about how to hold your kilt up with a bit of tack (sewing): but then I don't play video games. It was genuinely misleading to me. I can't find an RS. Wikia hosts [halo.wikia.com halo.wikia.com]. It's probably best to let people find the info there. Si Trew (talk) 09:23, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I came to this blind but genuinely I didn't see that "tacular" was a pun on "spectacular". I just read Kilt (I know it has two L's) and tackle is a slang name for penides (but not listed at that DAB). I assumed — wrongly or rightly — possibly both — that it was the secret thing that is worn under a Scotsman's kilt. "Nothing's worn, madam, it's all in good order". 09:58, 7 November 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by SimonTrew (talkcontribs)

Gauge White[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was delete. --BDD (talk) 17:26, 19 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

None of the references on the target page present the article's subject as "Gauge White" as a real name or otherwise. Also, all searches on a rather popular search engine for the phrase "Gauge White" only return information about gauges that are white in color; thus, there probably isn't a good retarget option, considering that Gauge white currently does not exist either. Steel1943 (talk) 05:45, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Add/Comment: In other words, I suspect that this redirect is a WP:BLP violation as a made-up name for this person. Steel1943 (talk) 15:59, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete.I thought that White Gauge might be railway slang, but apparently it isn't. Si Trew (talk) 21:08, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • The actress's IMDB listing is [here.] Si Trew (talk) 21:17, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. It seems the most reasonable target. I wouldn't say it's a "made up" name, rather it is a stage name. Why do you think the redirect would be BLP? If the article is, sure, that should go, but the R will go with it. I am getting lots of porn ads now! Si Trew (talk) 08:14, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Steel1943: the penny drops, I think: it's the "White" you think is made up, because her stage name is just "Gauge". Yep, with you on that one. For some reason when I put "Gauge White" into my favourite search engine, this was the first hit: hence my assuming it was her stage name. But in her resumé it's just "Gauge". Do you think she is standard gauge or wide gauge? Si Trew (talk) 08:18, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
May I mention in passing that I can never spell guage correctly. Usually I spell well (and type badly), but "gauge" is a nemesis. gauge is a DAB. Guage redirects there. Si Trew (talk) 09:32, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Am I totally wrong? To gauge someone is to cut them heavily isn't it? Gauging also is R to DAB at Gauge? gage (U.S. sp.) is a DAB. Give me the tin of worms, I have a tin opener. Si Trew (talk) 09:37, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oh perhaps that is gouge. I've been saying "gauge" all my life, and not only to those who dare to disagree with me on Wikipedia. It sounds the same in my accent. Si Trew (talk) 09:39, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • @SimonTrew: Exactly... The lack of any references that I am able to find that proves this to be a real name or "otherwise" (such as an alternate stage name) poses the BLP issue I see. "...the penny drops." Yup, pretty much! I'm thinking of displaying a pic of that on my user page soon, provided that there's a free image on Wikimedia Commons. Steel1943 (talk) 15:00, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Penny for the Guy?
, I just put a couple on Commons. Si Trew (talk) 02:22, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. According to a disreputable source her other names are "Gage, Guage, Paige, Sally Gauge." Real last name is Deans. This seems to be just made up. --Sammy1339 (talk) 15:12, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Sammy1339: Would you, by chance, be able to post a link to a reputable source that has her real name listed as "Gauge Deans"? Just asking since the redirect Gauge Deans currently doesn't exist, and the information showing the actress' real name is currently not in the article. Steel1943 (talk) 17:51, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Steel1943: No, her name is not "Gauge Deans" either; Deans is her legal last name, and I figured her first name is irrelevant to this discussion. It's generally not good practice to publish pornstars' real names, unless they've attained public notability under that name, e.g. Fareeza Terunuma uses her real name for her art exhibitions. Gauge, on the other hand, has attained some notability e.g. in articles in Salon and the Huffington Post for being harassed and ostracized post-porn career, so probably doesn't want her name published. --Sammy1339 (talk) 18:03, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Sammy1339: Ah; I misread your post; your first sentence proved that, and I was also under the assumption that you were stating that there is a publication that stated that information. Never mind on the entire question. Steel1943 (talk) 18:43, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per the above, per WP:BLPPRIVACY or WP:HOAX, and as a creation by an account being used to WP:EVADE a sockpuppetry block. Ivanvector (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I declined a G10 speedy of this redirect, since it isn't blatantly negative. Jackmcbarn (talk) 00:22, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. I raised the CSD G10. With BLP it tends to side on caution; but at least now we have that line in the sand; nobody can now say "BLP". Si Trew (talk) 07:00, 8 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as unverifiable. It can be a BLP issue having unverifiable or unconnected names redirect to a biographical article (e.g. if there is a (non-notable) living person called Gauge White who is not a pornographic actress), but not all BLP issues need to be (or even can be) dealt with by speedy deletion. I don't think it really serves a point to redirect an actor to an article about a TV show they were on that includes no information on the actual actor. JDDJS (talk) 04:31, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Only reason for redirection is actor's resume is pretty much all guest roles and minor film roles; no need for this. Nate (chatter) 21:11, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
