Not actually sure of what to do about this, but it is a redirect that is part of a messy trail left by a new User in his attempts to write what is essentially a social page about an enthusiasts' club he seems to be a member of YSSYguy (talk) 21:57, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Article Moldavian Spotters is up for speedy by itself. Won't be blue for a week. This talkpage will follow. -DePiep (talk) 23:26, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is new territory for me and i'm not actually sure of what to do about this, but it is a redirect that is part of a messy trail left by a new User, in his attempts to write what is essentially a social page about an enthusiasts' club he seems to be a member of. Perhaps it can be deleted then re-created as an actual User page later; if someone thinks blanking the page is the way to go, that would be fine by me YSSYguy (talk) 21:56, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. Federer has nothing to do with Macedonian or Serbian. Gorobay (talk) 21:38, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete non-native transliterations/translations have nothing to do with this Swiss person of Swiss and South African heritage. WP:NOT Wikipedia is not a translation dictionary. -- 70.50.151.11 (talk) 05:57, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - unambiguously directs readers to the subject they're looking for. No argument has been advanced to support deletion. WilyD 09:44, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. While it is true that these do unambiguously refer to the target, consensus has long been against redirects from foreign languages where there is no connection between the language and the subject. WP:FORRED notes this but doesn't go into the whys. I remember there being a page that gave reasons but I can't immediately find it. Thryduulf (talk) 12:36, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    • The "consensus" comes from a handful of people and is supported by no reasoning at all - you can find the policy explanation for why they supported deletion at WP:IDONTLIKEIT. Beyond that, merely having done something the wrong way for a while doesn't mean we're compelled to keep doing something dumb and harmful - i.e. WP:CONSENSUSCANCHANGE. WilyD 10:04, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak delete While I don't really see the harm in having a redirect from an unrelated language, I also don't see the point. And just because WP:CONSENSUSCANCHANGE doesn't mean consensus has changed. - Jorgath (talk) (contribs) 01:53, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete per Thryduulf. There is absolutely no reason for this redirect to exist. --MelanieN (talk) 16:51, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. It seems that this redirect's intended target is List of Dungeons & Dragons creatures (A)#Abishai. However, per this search, there are some possible cases where this may be used as as person's name. For this reasoning, I cannot see how this could be a likely mispelling for the Dungeons & Dragons topic, and thus, I believe this redirect should be deleted.
