Crapulence[edit]

The common usage of crapulence is quite different than gluttony. This appears to be a very obscure term slightly related in one definition to gluttony. But modern common usage has entirely different meanings per [1]. ConcernedVancouverite (talk) 14:25, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • UrbanDictionary is not even remotely a reliable source - they have problems with vandalism and hoax entries that they don't even try to fix. Wiktionary has the correct definition, "sickness caused by excessive eating or drinking" - confirmed via multiple reputable dictionaries (including my old dead tree American Heritage). The redirect to "gluttony" seems reasonable to me. I would prefer a soft-redirect to the Wiktionary page using {{wi}}, though. Rossami (talk) 21:52, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Turn it into a dab page with a {{wikt}} template. A soft redir to wikitionary is a second option for me. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 22:05, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • I'm curious what you would disambiguate. Reliable sources (by which I mean every dictionary I checked except UD) return only the one definition about overeating. Rossami (talk) 14:26, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Never Gonna Dance Again[edit]

The result of the discussion was convert to a disambiguation page. Thryduulf (talk) 20:33, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Should be moved because apparently the song is known for the line "never ever gonna dance again" and not the former. Till I Go Home (talk) 12:02, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Some history:
    1. This title was first created in Oct 2007 as a writeup about a single off the 2007 Change (Sugababes album). It was deleted for lack of notability following this AfD.
    2. It was re-created as a redirect to Careless Whisper, a 1984 George Michael single, shortly after the close.
    3. Since then, it's been changed to a redirect to "Change (Sugababes album)", changed back to "Careless Whisper", changed back again to the album, redirected to "George Michael", changed back to to "Careless Whisper" again, changed back to the album again, self-reverted and now brought here.
My analysis: "Careless Whisper" is well-known by the refrain "Never gonna dance again". A review of the lyrics of "Careless Whisper" finds multiple instances of "never gonna dance again" but not of the line "never ever gonna dance again". (I would not be surprised to see it that way in a different version, though. The song's been around since 1984 after all.)
The Sugarbabes song is a completely different song. From what I can tell, the Sugarbabes song is still far less notable. Even though "Never Gonna Dance Again" is the official song title, rather than just the common name, a redirect only to the Sugarbabes album would confuse more readers than it would help.
My conclusion: Keep and convert the page to a disambiguation page listing both songs. I do not see any reasonable argument to delete or move the page. Rossami (talk) 21:22, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This is stupid. There is a song titled Never Gonna Dance Again, and yet the article with the existing name is redirected to a completely different song, which isn't even the complete lyric itself? Stupid idea. Sorry but I had to get that off my chest. Till I Go Home (talk) 07:29, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Convert to dab page. The song is a rendered derivative of the George Michael song. Also, the Sugababes song must be disambiguated because "(song)" itself is ambiguous right now. --George Ho (talk) 19:27, 4 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was nomination withdrawn in favor of retarget suggestion. Rossami (talk) 22:37, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This was a passing mention and an implausible search term, but furthermore, this fake band are also mentioned in passing in several other episodes, so why choose this one? Since there is no single episode about this group, there is no rationale for redirecting it to any one in particular. —Justin (koavf)TCM 09:21, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • delete, it looks like this was a link to pubmed, with the tag "free text". we don't need to keep a redirect since it is so old. Frietjes (talk) 23:54, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
