Harizotoh9 recently moved J. D. Tippit to Murder of J. D. Tippit per this edit. While I generally agree that redirects like this are warranted for lesser known individuals, I think the question here is whether or not Tippit should have a stand alone article per WP:BIO1E and WP:CRIME due to weight of historical significance and the fact that a large number of Wikipedia articles reference Tippit by name. I think the redirect should be reversed, but I'm bringing it here for consensus. (Edit: I inadvertently courtesy tagged two editors involved with the article, but not involved with the redirect.) Locs[edit]

Not sure about this. Google images is quite clear that "locs" refers to dreadlocks, but the word's used only once in that article (in an external link). On the other hand, I don't think "LoCs" as a measurement of data transfer rate is mentioned in the Library of Congress article either. "Locs" is also a brand of sunglasses; with diacritics, a village in Hungary; and the pluralised form of any number of Locs. (Just FYI, I don't think deletion's a good idea, but this is redirects for discussion, and I'm personally split between retargeting, dabifying and keeping.) – hysteria18 (talk) 13:26, 24 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to the dab at Loc, andding any specific targets (e.g. Lócs, the Hungarian village) to the target. I wouldn't object to converting this to its own dab, linking the two with see alsos, but a single page will be easier to maintain and I don't think it would be too long.
