Implausible typo, page has been moved from Jozef Majoroš (footballer born 1970) to Jozef Majoroš. Noone outside wikipedia would use such disambiguation. Cloudz679 22:10, 12 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Unsure if I can bundle another nomination but

is also an implausible disambiguation, since there does not appear to be any other people by this name. If eligible, I would like to add this to the nomination. Cloudz679 23:13, 12 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Procedurally, yes you can bundle the nominations and I agree that this make sense in this case. Having said that, I believe we should keep both. The second nomination (Jozef Majoroš (footballer born 1970)) is an artifact of a very recent pagemove of content that existed at the old title for almost 3 1/2 years. Redirects from pagemoves minimize link rot by capturing any inbound links (remember that they may exist external to the project) and reduce the frequency of accidentally forked articles by pointing the prior readers and editors to the new title of the page (an unfortunately common problem).
I note that the article was first drafted at the current title then moved to that second location, presumably because the editors in 2008 thought there was a potential need for disambiguation. That no longer appears to be the case so I am inclined to agree that the new title is better but the old title is neither confusing to readers nor harmful to the project. Redirects are cheap and if even one prior reader is helped to find the new location for the content, that is sufficient reason to keep the redirect.
The first nomination (Jozef Majoros (footballer born 1970)) is a {{R to diacritics}}. It also has been around for several years without causing confusion. While it should be retargetted to the current page location, WP:CHEAP says there is no real reason to delete it. Rossami (talk) 01:50, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Jozef Majoros (footballer born 1970), keep Jozef Majoroš (footballer born 1970): though the disambiguation on two criteria is overkill, the title with diacritics received a fair amount of hits in last days. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk) 07:23, 14 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Art Willock[edit]

Delete. When the redirect was created, Art Willock was mentioned in the target article, but that reference was removed years ago and the name no longer occurs in the target article.  --Lambiam 08:39, 12 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • From what I can see, the only mention of Willock in the target article even at the time of the creation of this redirect (Nov 2006) was in a table showing that he succeeded Vellacott as the Saskatoon District Health Board Representative, Ward Two. We have no article on that political position. Nor, I believe, would such an article meet our generally accepted inclusion criteria. On the one hand, this is an old redirect which has not caused any known harm and may have inbound links. On the other hand, the redirect of a minor politician to his political predecessor makes little sense and will be confusing to readers. I suspect that the redirect was created to fill in a redlink in the table on the Vellacott page. The effect, however, was a circular redirect. The table has been gone from the article for quite some time. In the unlikely event that it is restored, we would still need to redlink the title. Delete despite the possibility of inbound links. No "Virgil Beckham" is mentioned in the target article. Virgil was apparently a backing musician for Medley, but if he's not worth a mention on the target, then there's no need for a redirect. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 07:52, 12 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
