Tiu International University[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Delete as misleading without any implication regarding a different organisation of the list. Tikiwont (talk) 13:34, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Delete as an invalid redirect. Tiu International University is an illegal institution operating in Nigeria, per this source, not related to Trinity International University. There is no appropriate article to which this redirect could be targeted. The redirect is linked only from List of unaccredited institutions of higher education, where it should be a redlink. Orlady (talk) 17:15, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What content do you suggest the propose new article should contain? The only bit of information we have about this institution is a Nigerian-government item that indicates that an institution of this name is illegally operating in Nigeria. That's a sufficient basis for including it in a list, but it's not enough to demonstrate notability and it's not a sufficient basis for an article. --Orlady (talk) 03:46, 30 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I was predicating that on the statement that it should be a redlink. If the subject is non-notable there should be no article and no redlink. A redirect to List of unaccredited institutions of higher education would be a good idea, however. Rich Farmbrough, 03:53, 30 August 2012 (UTC).[reply]

Tor (Geoography)[edit]

The result of the discussion was No Consensus. TexasAndroid (talk) 21:42, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible typo. Not recently created, unfortunately. King of ♠ 16:37, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. Weak keep. Tagged with {{R from unnecessary disambiguation}}, {{R from misspelling}}. Any one-letter-off typo is plausible. BigNate37(T) 16:41, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
But it's two letters off: a miscapitalized "G" and an extra "o." -- King of ♠ 16:44, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
So it is. I didn't notice, mind you neither did the original creator back in 2006. Seems plausible to me, albeit less cut and dry than before. I've changed my recommendation accordingly. It still causes no harm and fails to satisfy any RFD#DELETE conditions. The search bar is smart enough to not list it even at "tor (g". BigNate37(T) 16:54, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Delete as implausible typo. --Orlady (talk) 17:49, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Delete per CSD R3. Only exists because of a move to fix another (erroneous) move which was reverted a month later anyway. --Rory096 03:04, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - plausible typo, longstanding existence means it may be linked from outside Wikipedia, no rationale for deletion WilyD 15:49, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm... Seeing that there were 14 hits on the page in the 3 months before it was nominated here, you may be correct about the outside links. --Orlady (talk) 23:50, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Depends Harley Graham played Alexandria Forrester in 32 episodes between 2006 and 2009. If that means she should be on the list then presumably these redirects should stand. If not HG is a child actor with a significant number of credits and may or may not be worthy of a short article. Rich Farmbrough, 03:50, 30 August 2012 (UTC).[reply]
