Ringleader[edit]

The result of the discussion was move dab page to Ringleader. Jafeluv (talk) 10:08, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Primary topic leads to a disambiguation page; previously this item redirected to Ringleader (comics) but was recently changed to redirect to the dab page. The current setup is illogical and goes against Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Is there a primary topic?. Ringleader should either be re-targeted to point to a specific article or, if there is no primary topic, the disambiguation page should be moved to this title. • Retarget to Leadership or move dab page. This was originally targetted at Leadership, and has been in turn retargeted to Ringleader (comics) and Ringleader (disambiguation), on neither occasion with any discussion that I can find. It's clear from the what links here that the leadership role is what is meant when people add a wikilink (except in one article, where I pointed the link to ringmaster (circus) instead as that was the clear meaning). I don't think there is anything that can be said about ringleaders that wouldn't fit at leadership (although that article currently doesn't use the term) or the Wiktionary entry. I think the direct link to the article, with appropriate hatnote added there is probably the best, although I certainly wouldn't object to making the dab page primary (the resultant redirect would be kept per WP:INTDABLINK). • Move dab page, since there are many different meanings of it and the Wiktionary entry (which is really the source for information in this case) is linked. --The Evil IP address (talk) 15:44, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move dab page - I agree that 'ringleader' is a subset of 'leadership' but I think that moving the dab page is the most helpful solution since it is a commonly used term and the dab page explains it well. I have fixed the recursive link in the lead so the lead is now linked to 'leadership' to assist those readers looking for the broader topic, Bridgeplayer (talk) 03:24, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was delete. Unused, unlikely search term, no history to keep. Jafeluv (talk) 10:06, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This appears to be redirect from an unused template to an article. Would consider a speedy, but this isn't a recent creation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:00, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • If you are asking for deletion of the redirect to move the current target there, you don't need to. If you can't perform the move yourself, just make a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves (WP:RM). If you are asking for deletion of the redirect because you want to start an article there, again you don't need to, just overwrite the redirect with your article. If you want the redirect deleted because it is incorrect you are in the right place, but I disagree. I think we should keep the current target, because there is no information at all about the 2006 team at Indonesia national football team (other than a single table entry saying they didn't qualify for the world cup that year) which is the only other logical target I can find. If you want to add information about the team, I think the best course of action would be to add it to the results article and then swap that with the redirect (again, see WP:RM). • Keep the redirect to the new address of the moved page. Classic use case, IMHO. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk) 15:26, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - plausible search term and no good reason to delete. Bridgeplayer (talk) 19:15, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was Delete as a recently created, orphaned redirect with low chance to be a search term. Malinaccier (talk) 04:40, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion - Orphan redirect with a spacing error, moved by me to the correct title. IMHO it is redundant. Different from, for example, the redirects with other capitalizations (as LONDON or Bill clinton), or with common errors (as Star Treck). Regards. Dэя-Бøяg 04:42, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. It wasn't quite an orphan, but I've fixed the one incomming article-space link so it is now. However, being an orphan isn't a reason to delete a redirect though. If you had both created and moved this then it would be a simple speedy delete per WP:CDS#G7 and probably WP:CSD#R3 too. If the actual author agrees then I'd happily delete it under the first of those criteria (given the only two authors both agree), but as a speedy deletion has been declined already it is now not eligible unless circumstances change. We also normally keep redirects from page moves to maintain attribution history, and the redirect is not offensive or in the way of anything else so it's not actually harmful. I wouldn't object to deletion, but I'm not going to outright recommend it. Thryduulf (talk) 13:39, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It was originally listed at this navbox for Spanish ministries. This template had originally many ministerial red links. Ambiguous titles are listed followed by "(Spain)" with a space (apart this one). As I suppose, it was simply an error. Yesterday the user Donalbai1106 created the remaining ministerial articles following the navbox list. I've not created this articles but I've discovered them at "new pages", to mark 'em as patrolled and fix if necessary. So I've also moved that title to the correct one. So, this to explain how I've found this pages. If it could remain as redirect for me it is no problem. Ah... this night, at "what links here", this redir hadn't article-space links to it (only a WP-space and my talk). Sorry if I haven't orphanized it, maybe it was a problem related to my browser. --Dэя-Бøяg 14:55, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I removed it from 9th Legislature of Spain. It's very easy to miss in situations like this as templates tend to add a lot of pages to the list with no way of telling what links via the template and what links direct, and a page is only mentioned once regardless of the number of links on it. Further, whatlinkshere doesn't always update instantly, particularly with template changes as each one needs to be processed individually and how fast this is done depends on the number of transclusions and what everybody else is doing on the wiki at that point (see help:job queue). In short, don't worry! Thryduulf (talk) 16:24, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as a typo with low chance to become a search term. The article was there for a couple of days, so it shouldn't really be referenced from the external sites. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk) 15:29, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete, recently created. --The Evil IP address (talk) 15:45, 18 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
