March 30[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on March 30, 2011

Slang (street talk)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Keep (non-admin closure). Acather96 (talk) 15:35, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not a plausible search term or necessary for any other reason. Pwrm (talk) 22:21, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep, this is getting large numbers of hits (over 130 last month for example) proving it is useful. It's also quietly discouraging the repetition of the undiscussed page move, the reversion of which resulted in this redirect. Thryduulf (talk) 23:57, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Thryduulf's findings. Rossami (talk) 12:20, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

High pass filter[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Keep as is. Acather96 (talk) 15:44, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The subject 'High Pass Filter' refers to more than one thing. Currently the term automatically re-directs to 'High-pass filter' referring to an electrical component. This makes it difficult for users to successfully search the term which also refers to the Melbourne music group 'High Pass Filter' which is currently listed under 'High Pass Filter (band)'. These two terms should be listed under a disambiguation of the term. Charles mcquoi (talk) 14:44, 30 March 2011 (UTC) Note; I fixed the capitalization for you. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 15:01, 30 March 2011 (UTC) [reply]

Hmmm... wouldn't it just make sense to move High Pass Filter (band) to High Pass Filter, and put an otheruses note at the top? This is what we do with Ainu language and Äynu language, both of which can be transliterated either way. The software will automatically redirect High pass filter to High Pass Filter. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 15:01, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep as is. The electronic component is the more likely use of the term, so the redirect there makes sense. I've linked both articles to each other using hatnotes, to help those looking for the other topic to find it. I have no opinion about renaming the band article. Thryduulf (talk) 19:21, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose the common usage is the electronic component, not the band. 65.93.12.101 (talk) 08:19, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as is. The electronic component is far and away the more common usage as demonstrated both by inbound links and external google searches. Hatnoting the target was the right answer and is sufficient here. (Note: The header and statistics links in the nomination originally pointed to High Pass Filter, a non-existent page - now corrected.) Rossami (talk) 12:27, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WLOW- FM[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Delete. Ruslik_Zero 08:45, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Highly unlikely typo: space between the hyphen and the "FM". Previously nominated for speedy delete but declined; but I suspect the admin didn't notice the space character. (WLOW-FM without the space is redirected and not nominated.) Closeapple (talk) 10:06, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete but not speedily. This is an all-but unused unlikely redirect. The speedy deletion should have been declined on the grounds of age, WP:CSD#R3 is only for "recently created" redirects, whereas this redirect is over 10 months old. Thryduulf (talk) 13:07, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Klima i Dubai[edit]

I'm not seeing how this is a particularly useful redirect. It's a Norwegian redirect to the climate in Dubai, in the UAE, and has no relevant page history. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 04:10, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I redirected it. I'd support a prod. I didn't realize it was in Norwegian. OlYellerTalktome 04:32, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well it is one now, so we may as well follow through with it. Doesn't make a huge difference to me. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 04:40, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete "Climate in Dubai" in Norwegian is not a good redirect. This is the English Wikipedia, not the Norwegian Wikipedia. There is a Climate of Dubai article that should be the target in the first place. Dubai is not a native Norwegian language topic. There's no point to having a foreign / non-native language redirect to a subtopic, since Dubai is spelt the same, and you'd have to read English to make sense of English Wikipedia in the first place, where the link to Dubai's climate is clearly located on the main article. 65.93.12.101 (talk) 03:23, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
