Tutu (god)[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Retarget to appropriate disambig page. --Taelus (talk) 19:23, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There are now two gods named "Tutu" with articles, neither one clearly more important, so I moved the content of this page to Tutu (Mesopotamian god). This page, consequently, is a redirect there, but it serves no purpose and should be deleted. It would make no sense as a disambiguation page, because the articles on both gods are already covered at the disambiguation Tutu. A. Parrot (talk) 22:59, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Tutu (disambiguation) and tag as {{R from incomplete disambiguation}}. What is now the redirect page was the location of the content for 4 years, so people will continue to look for it there (due to mirrors, external links, bookmarks, etc) and it's also a very likely search term for people looking for information about one of the gods who don't know there is more than one. • Disambiguate per Thrydulf. 65.94.47.63 (talk) 06:55, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Deborah Risman[edit]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was Kept. Discussed at target so valid redirect. -- JLaTondre (talk) 13:26, 4 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Delete - this is a single-appearance, non-notable fictional character. The likelihood of anyone searching for the series using this character's name, let alone remembering the character's name, is minimal to non-existent. Harley Hudson (talk) 15:14, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Keep use on three or four comic pages. --Crazy runner (talk) 20:47, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Only because you added the links minutes before you made this comment. Harley Hudson (talk) 23:32, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The name of this character was present in three articles. Yes or no ??? Your deletions are questionable Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Comics#Harley_Hudson_and_deletions, Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Spider-Man_episodes, no sign of merge or redirect. Deletion of articles, deletion of redirect and deletion of definition in list.--Crazy runner (talk) 07:18, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
X-23 is a known character created in the TV show and notable in comics, Dr. Deborah Risman is her creator and mother in the TV show and Dr. Sarah Kinney is her creator and mother in the comic. This definition and redirection help to make the difference. Same role but different names. Even if the two Dr. characters are not notables, they can be defined in a list to avoid confusion.--Crazy runner (talk) 07:33, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Risman is a meaningless one-appearance character. Her involvement in creating another character confers exactly zero notability on her in the absence of independent reliable sources. You want everything related to comics to be kept with no regard to WP policy or guidelines. "They're the same character but with different names" is typical of the original research upon which you rely in one discussion after another. Harley Hudson (talk) 09:33, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What ??? OR, really then rewrite all the X-23 article but before I advice you to read a review of the TV episodes and read the comics. I do not want everything to be kept but valuable information yes. I have proded comics articles and participate to deletion and merging and not always to a keep, check my edits before doing such comment. --Crazy runner (talk) 09:46, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
List of X-Men: Evolution characters contains the characters of the TV show X-Men: Evolution. Some characters already exist in the main continuity of the Marvel Universe. Their stories are different and their list entries help to explain the difference. Some characters appear only in the show and they were only created for the show. Some characters were originally created for an animated series then introduced in comic book. Some characters were originally created for an animated series then inpired others in comic book. Each list entry specifies difference, similitude or abscence of link between the TV show and the comic books.
X-23 is a character originally created for an animated series then introduced in comic book. The Doctor that created this clone of Wolverine is called Dr. Deborah Risman in the animation and Dr. Sarah Kinney in the comic book.[1][2] The list entry of Dr. Deborah Risman helps like all the other list entries to understand the difference between comics and animation and their influence on each other. In the article of X-23, well known character, her creation is explained and the name of Deborah Risman is given and also the name of Sarah Kinney. This redirect is needed because it is used in different comic book or animation articles, it is shorter than the use of List of X-Men: Evolution characters#Miscellaneous characters as a link. The entry in the list is needed to show that the original character was Deborah Risman and in the comic book, it has been replaced by Sarah Kinney. It avoids confusion and editors will not write Sarah Kinney instead or Deborah Risman or vice versa.--Crazy runner (talk) 03:33, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • This redirect is not needed because no one is going to search for a single-appearance character in a canceled cartoon. Not every single character who's named in every episode of every single TV show ever needs to have a redirect. Harley Hudson (talk) 17:31, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so a clearer consensus may be reached.

This redirect is used on different articles so some people can click on it and it avoids confusion. Since redirects are cheap, there is no problem.--Crazy runner (talk) 09:39, 20 June 2011 (UTC) You can look at the article traffic statistics. It is used.--Crazy runner (talk) 09:47, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
