  • Delete as prohibited re-direct that crosses name spaces. —Xiaoyu: 聊天 (T) 贡献 (C) 06:05, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Cross-namespace redirects (CNRs) are not actually prohibited, redirects from reader-facing namespaces to editor-facing namespaces are rightly discouraged but all CNRs need to be considered on their own merits as there are exceptions to every case. What we did the last time that a user to article CNR came up for discussion was to convert to a soft-redirect. This allows the editor's intention to remain, but it much reduces confusion. • Issue is moot. User has changed his userpage so it is no longer a redirect. Singularity42 (talk) 10:37, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was Keep. Ruslik_Zero 18:33, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Redirecting the fully capitalized version of a word is inappropriate. This word is not an acronym, it is simply a word. Besides, the wikimedia software would automatically redirect you to Yibaleh if your search term is "YIBALEH". —SW— gab 05:14, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Delete, "William Tutin Thomas" should be a red link to a non-existent article instead of redirecting back to his father's article. 69.171.149.245 (talk) 02:58, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

With this edit I added William Tutin Thomas under William Thomas (architect) at the DAB page William Thomas. That is not to pre-empt any discussion here, I hope, but I hope it was a good-faith addition to see the problem pointed out, which is not that he hasn't an article, but that his father's article has nothing to do with him.
I very much hope that does not seem like I am pre-empting the discussion here, rather, by putting it in the DAB I hope it becomes clearer to argue whether his son merits a redirect, an article, or a redlink. If redlink (which I am vaguely inclined to at the moment) then of course it should be removed from the DAB. Si Trew (talk) 09:12, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have started doing some gnoming around these articles because they could do with a bit of cleanup. I hope you believe me, this is in no way to prejudice the discussion about the redirect. But I notice, for example, that in the father's infobox he is Canadian, but in the lead he is English. I am not sure how to solve that right now, but I just wanted to assure you of my good faith that I am not trying to prejudice this discussion, just happening across it doing my usual gnoming. Actually I found that FR:WP had a reasonable stub for him, so I have translated it. Thus it is no longer a redirect but a stub article. I hope that doesn't annoy anyone necessarily, but I just took WP:BOLD and did it. Si Trew (talk) 10:36, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
