Redirect to moved file GSσяву Chat with Me! 22:20, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. It existed at the prior title for almost four years. It is not obviously harmful or confusing and does not appear to be in the way of any other content. Redirects like this serve to minimize the problem of linkrot. Rossami (talk) 03:27, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete this is not an article, linkrot is not a concern. Title is non-specific, therefore not useful. 65.93.12.101 (talk) 04:43, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Linkrot most certainly is a problem if, for example, any article using the image gets reverted to a version calling the old name. Reverts to old versions are common when cleaning up vandalism or any number of other maintenance activities on the site. Rossami (talk) 05:35, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
      • Nothing would ever be deleted with that rationale. There are many old templates that have been deleted, resulting in big ugly messes on old versions of pages, and changed parameters result in that as well. If anything ever linnked to anything else it would never get deleted then? 65.93.12.101 (talk) 22:18, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
      • The extent to which linkrot should be a consideration varies, in my opininion, from case to case. Deleting a page to which tens of pages linked naturally poses a larger problem than deleting a page, such as this one, to which one page linked. -- Black Falcon (talk) 15:47, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
        • re: "Nothing would ever be deleted with that rationale", I again call the strawman fallacy. That is not what I said.
re: the extent of linkrot, I agree completely. And I would consider it a weak consideration if there were any showing at all of harm or confusion being created by this redirect. So far, none has been presented. Minimal value is still greater than the zero value (and slight incremental costs) to deleting this redirect. Redirects really are that cheap. Implausible search term (uses a curly apostrophe, compare with Template:Women's Career Grand Slam Champion Golfers) with no incoming links and effectively no traffic. The history of the pagemove is preserved (diff) in the revision history of the target page. This would be a clear case of CSD R3 if the pagemove had taken place recently. -- Black Falcon (talk) 19:32, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nonsensical unnecessary redirect. Ѕōŧŧōľäċqǔä (talk) 16:30, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • This blog post shows that "Donnymid" is a pejorative nickname for the gameshow revival that started in 2002, hosted by Donny Osmond. Google finds a fair number of similar uses of the nickname. The redirect has been in place since 2008 without creating any evident confusion. The usage statistics show a steady trickle - a dozen a month or so. Rossami (talk) 18:07, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per Rossami. It makes perfect sense and is helping people, so is neither "nonsensical" nor "unnecessary". Thryduulf (talk) 19:27, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete little-used fan nickname. A dozen a month is hardly enough to warrant a keep. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 20:41, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • A dozen a month is way more than enough for me to consider it to be a useful, given that keeping a redirect is cheaper than deleting it. Thryduulf (talk) 21:07, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep even a little used nick name is worth having as a redirect. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:37, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
