Egg shaker[edit]

The result of the discussion was Delete. I moved Egg Shaker to Egg shaker, for those interested, and left a redirect. ~ Amory (utc) 23:00, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion, because the article is of similar significance to other permitted articles on similar percussion instruments (such as the Caxixi & Rainstick); Egg Shakers are also referenced in other articles and so deserve a stub in their own right. Jpabc (talk) 20:46, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Egg Shaker, an existing page recently created by the nominator. Bridgeplayer (talk) 21:43, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move Egg Shaker to this title per WP:NAME. The proposal for merging the article into the current target is outside the purview of this discussion. B.Wind (talk) 03:39, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - I concede that the capitalisation of 'Shaker' in Egg Shaker is inconsistent with WP:NAME as it is not a proper name (this is my 1st article - am learning!). Perhaps this would kill 2 birds with 1 stone - Jpabc (talk) 20:18, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect as per nomination. The term is now widely used by multiple manufacturers, and generally spelt in lower case, but they're still just shakers that happen to be egg shaped. I would say redirect to Shaker (instrument) and mention them in that article. --Deskford (talk) 14:40, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Penguins of Madagascar: The Big Problem[edit]

This redirect was actually a short-lived article before an IP user redirected it – and I thank them for doing so – but even this page is unfounded. According to this page when it was an article, “The Big Problem” is a special episode of the TV show The Penguins of Madagascar. However, this particular episode is complete speculation or fabrication – no reliable source exists to claim this as a genuine episode of the series. In fact, all Google turns up in a search for this purported episode are a few other sites speculating on it (including another wiki) and Nickelodeon’s website because “The Big Problem” just so happens to be an actual episode of another, completely unrelated series, The Fairly Oddparents. By virtue that this title, “Penguins of Madagascar: The Big Problem,” is grounded in nothing but speculation, I move for deletion. In the highly unlikely event that such a real episode ever comes to be, this redirect can be easily recreated with a few keystrokes. But rumors and speculation have no place on an encyclopedia. Sgt. • Delete, if there's no such thing, it's not going to be a plausible redirect. This also saves us from having to undo the redirection and then taking it to AFD. Nyttend (talk) 00:46, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Senior center[edit]

Implausible redirect. While both topics are related to gerentology, there's no more reason to have this redirect than there would be to have Primary school redirect to Childhood if there were no primary school article. While there are plenty of links to this target, they're plainly discussing the topic of places intended to attract seniors, not old age itself. There's no significant edit history (it was created as a redirect, and the only subsequent edit changed the target) for this redirect, either. Nyttend (talk) 02:38, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
