Delta airlines flight 89[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. Wizardman 16:19, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete There seems to exist a Delta Airlines "Flight 89" in 1984, obviously unrelated to "Flight 1989" NYT. Another Delta Air Lines "Flight 89" was a plane scheduled to fly from Boston to Las Vegas on September 11, 2001. 9/11 Commission Public Hearing 6-17-04, p. 13 and 59

Gawrsh![edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. Wizardman 16:16, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete - non-intuitive, obscurely spelled and punctuated search term. Otto4711 (talk) 17:20, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep It is the canonical spelling. A little research and less intuition before nomination would save us all a lot of time. See: --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 00:16, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • No one who didn't create the redirect is going to think of searching for Goofy based on his exclamation. "Hmm, I can't think of the name of that Disney character but he says 'G-A-W-R-S-H-exclamation point". Otto4711 (talk) 08:28, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. "If the redirect is a novel or very obscure synonym for an article name, it is unlikely to be useful." This is completely unlikely to be ever used to find an article. This redirect is merely another in a series of misspelled catch-phrases introduced by the same editor. See WP:Redirects for discussion/Log/2009 July 21, "Not so harrrrd!"; "Not so faaaaaast!", "You crazy, youuuuu!'. This is now getting into vandalism territory. TJRC (talk) 19:19, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thats why you can search by the catchphrase category, or come to the Goofy article through a Gawrsh! link in an another article. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 01:57, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vary[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. Wizardman 16:18, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. Not a plausible search term for the subject of the target article. R'n'B (call me Russ) 16:34, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete; not a plausible search term for the target article, and contrary to the primary use of the word, which is to "differ." TJRC (talk) 19:22, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete I can't even begin to image how unlikely it is someone would search for Vary and want a person. Probably isn't even neutral, as it's likely to just misdirect people. ~ Amory (usertalkcontribs) 20:59, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Digital switchover in the uk[edit]

The result of the discussion was delete. Wizardman 16:20, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. The redirect is a novel or very obscure synonym for an article name, it is unlikely to be useful. This redirect adds no value. Digital Switchover could also refer to Digital_radio_in_the_United_Kingdom#Analogue_switch-off 86.165.120.212 (talk)

  • I was bold and turned it into a disambiguation page covering both radio and television. There is nothing novel or obscure about the name of the redirect it. PaulJones (talk) 19:41, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The dab page should be moved though since UK is suspose to be uppercase.--76.65.142.182 (talk) 19:12, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sleaze[edit]

The result of the discussion was Speedy Delete, G7. Lenticel (talk) 02:09, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. I denied a speedy on this as it didn't seem to meet any of the criteria. It was then pordded but according to WP:PROD redirects aren't eligable for prod, hence I've brought it here. Part of the prod reasoning was "This page redirects from a general term 'sleaze' to a very particular use for it, thus being misleading", a reasoning I agree with. Dpmuk (talk) 09:53, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. I created this redirect page because I thought that Sleaze generally referred to political sleaze. I now realise that this is a specific usage of the word and have no objection to this redirect being deleted. Adw2000 (talk) 12:28, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Delete; even User:Adw2000, the redirect's author, wants to delete it. Alternatively, User:Adw2000 can add {{db-author}} to the redirect to request a speedy deletion. TJRC (talk) 19:41, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
