Andranik PashaAndranik Toros Ozanian[edit]

The result of the debate was keep. Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion#K5 - The redirect is useful and relevant to the article to which it points. -- ChrisO (talk) 21:46, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Used only in some songs, not so pupular or sourced to have a redirect. Undiscussed redirect, created for a simple purpose to attack me [1]. Andranikpasha (talk) 16:40, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Speedy Keep: The redirect is totally aligned with the WP:R related to "another name, a pseudonym, a nickname, or a synonyms" rule. The user who proposed for deletion personally accepts the use of the name in his edit. The deletion proposal is WP:POV of the user as the Google gives 11,600 links to name. The accusation of "WP:NPA" is not valid. The issue is related with the "content of the article" as user constantly injets material which turns the article into "alternate article." This is Forking. The position is clearly defined and explained to him, but yet not responded by the user. There is a consideration for this users WP:AGF. Anglepush (talk) 18:07, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Question: I am not familiar with Armenian history, but reading the linked articles indicates that Andranik Toros Ozanian was a "hero", so why does User:Andranikpasha feel the redirect is a personal attack?
  • Comment: It seems insensitive to WP:CIVIL for two editors engaged in some sort of content dispute to make articles with each other's usernames as titles, so I don't think it was a good idea for User:Anglepush to create the page, but the page itself seems fine. It would be easier for User:Andranikpasha to WP:Assume good faith if User:Angelpush apologized for unintentionally taunting User:Andranikpasha. It is not possible to always predict what will hurt someone else's feelings, but part of wikipedia is ensuring that if one does create an uncivil environment accidentally, that one tries to restore civility as soon as possible. • Keep: assuming the editors can coexist peacefully. The name "Andranik Pasha" appears to be a standard alternate name for the Armenian general "Andranik Toro Ozanian". JackSchmidt (talk) 20:27, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Regardless of the edit war going on at Andranik Toros Ozanian, User:Andranikpasha has said on Talk:Andranik Pasha that it is an alternate name sometimes used for the target. That's sufficient - we have plenty of redirects from alternate names, and we don't delete them if they're useful to the users of the encyclopedia, regardless of whether editors are using them to score points.
