December 13[edit]
This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on December 13, 2008
Pubic goods → Public good[edit]
While possibly counting as misspelling, it doesn't really help those interested in public good and is rather misleading for who types 'pubic' to find related subjects. Tikiwont (talk) 19:59, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Fine. I was just trying to be helpful. but i frequently have mispeled public as pubic, so I figured I could help ppl out by changin it. But since u have to be a WB about it (since you are one, maybe you can help delete it), do what you will with it. Wilkos (talk) 04:18, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- This is a very common typo, but it should be deleted as a potentially confusing redirect (before someone gets the bright idea to retarget it to prostitution or something similar). B.Wind (talk) 06:56, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- Delete - Public goods would be fine, but pubic goods? Nuh-uh. --Dylan620 Contribs Sign! 19:42, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- Delete While the redirect was clearly created to address a common misspelling, the fact that it is also a valid English expression with multiple potential meanings makes this redirect a point of confusion. --Allen3 talk 04:43, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
Penghus → Pescadores[edit]
Id like to add this page for deletion... Penghus is a bastardized for of the correct Pinyin form (Penghu). Hanyu Pinyin has its own rules.. I just think we should respect that, considering that this is an encyclopedic site. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.43.124.203 (talk)
- Keep. "Pescadores" seems to be the most common form in English, but "Penguhus" doesn't seem implausible as a search. In particular, English pluralization of a group noun doesn't seem at all implausible. — Gavia immer (talk) 15:54, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Keep per Gavia immer. Seems like a possible search term.--Ashbey ₮ 16:04, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Keep -- REdirects are harmless. As a group of islands, applying a plural form (even if incorrect) is not an improbable mistake. Peterkingiron (talk) 23:05, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Jeff D'Amico (left-handed pitcher) → Jeff D'Amico (Royals)[edit]
Page was improperly moved. D'Amico is not left-handed. -Dewelar (talk) 11:22, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Delete. And I loved the Inigo Montoya edit summary. :)--Fabrictramp | talk to me 13:11, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Delete - If D'Amico isn't left-handed, then who's going to type "left-handed pitcher"? Per nom.--Ashbey ₮ 16:06, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- R3 Unlikely redirect as he's not a southpaw. So tagged. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells • Otter chirps • HELP) 00:53, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
Edward D. Murphy → Eddie Murphy[edit]
According to Eddie Murphy, Eddie Murphy's name is Edward Regan Murphy, so the intitial "D" is inappropriate. According to IMDB, Edward D. Murphy is a completely different actor, who doesn't appear to have a WP article at the moment, but whose name should be reserved for an article if anyone wants to create one. Deor (talk) 04:28, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
The above is preserved as the archive of a RfD nomination. Please do not modify it.TF:ROCKO → Wikipedia:WikiProject Nickelodeon/Rocko's Modern Life task force[edit]
No TF: pseudospace exists. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells • Otter chirps • HELP) 03:15, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Note: Actually, yes it does. --Dylan620 Contribs Sign! 03:23, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, there's at least one more TF space that exists. Does that mean they should? Judging from precedent, it seems not. (And wow, even Zim has a task force now? Maybe I should help with that one just for Treelo. But after I've watched an episode or six to satisfy her and Yngvarr.) Wikipedia:CHERRY → Cherry picking[edit]
Redirect from wikipedia space to article space. Is this needed? Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells • Otter chirps • HELP) 02:43, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- This redirect was created to generate a WP shortcut to the definition of the issue and include it in the issue-tag {{Cherry-picking}}. In case this is not the right way to go about it, kindly fix the issue or guide me. Deletion will mess up the tag. Thanks, --RoadAhead =Discuss= 07:49, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Keep while a stub is prepared. I am willing to help User:Roadahead in this. Colonel Warden (talk) 23:31, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Retarget to WP:Coatrack#Fact picking; more appropriate.--Aervanath lives in the Orphanage 01:40, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
"Ass Burger Syndrome" redirects → Asperger syndrome[edit]
- Assburger → Asperger syndrome
- Assburger's → Asperger syndrome
- Ass Burger Syndrome → Asperger syndrome
- Ass burger syndrome → Asperger syndrome
- Ass-burger syndrome → Asperger syndrome
- Assburger's syndrome → Asperger syndrome
Completing incomplete nomination for this disparaging term. --Allen3 talk 01:55, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Delete --Dylan620 Contribs Sign! 03:22, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Delete. I've added a trivial capitalization variant that should also be deleted. Note: Previous discussions of a similar nature are at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2007 January 23 and Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2007 August 21. I remain convinced that any variant of "ass burger" should go. — Gavia immer (talk) 15:44, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Delete - Disparaging term.--Ashbey ₮ 16:09, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- There are also the two redirects that I have just added. It Is Me Here t / c 21:12, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- G10 as attack-y redirects, so tagged. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters • (Broken clamshells • Otter chirps • HELP) 02:38, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
- Deleted per TenPoundHammer's nomination as attack redirects. Nyttend (talk) 02:44, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
