Riccardo NeriJuventus F.C.#Current season[edit]

The result of the debate was delete - Nabla (talk) 01:01, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As with Ferramosca below, he was a youth player who drowned during a training session. There may have been info in the current season section at the time, but it is gone now, and there is nothing to redirect this to. MSJapan (talk) 14:40, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete as with previous redirect, no useful target for this one. Terraxos (talk) 03:09, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cold dead handsCharlton Heston[edit]

The result of the debate was Nomination withdrawn by proposer. Timrollpickering (talk) 11:30, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Only created in the aftermath of the news of Heston's death, in somewhat poor taste. Timrollpickering (talk) 14:07, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Maybe the redirect was created only after Heston died, but it is part of a memorable 2000 quote by him as he addressed the National Rifle Association while debating gun control legislation. He repeated "from my cold, dead hands" three years later in his resignation speech as he left the NRA presidency. While it is debatable that the phrase could have its own Wikipedia article that could stand on its own, it does serve as a useful redirect until someone fleshes it out. • Followup and possible correction (no change in advice). From the death announcement in the New York Times: "Paraphrasing an N.R.A. bumper sticker ('I’ll give you my gun when you take it from my cold, dead hands'), he waved a replica of a colonial musket above his head and shouted defiantly, 'From my cold, dead hands!'" The full quotation at the 2000 NRA convention, in a report from the BBC: "Heston added: '"You are of the same lineage as the farmers who stood at Concord Bridge" at the start of the American Revolution.' Given a musket from that war, he held it above his head and said, 'I have only five words for you: From my cold, dead hands.'" 147.70.242.40 (talk) 18:42, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Boldly redirected to new stub article, I’ll give you my gun when you take it from my cold, dead hands. Article can be fleshed out with sections on parodies, effect on 2000 Presidential election, and so forth. Now going to fix links (they should go from Charlton Heston, not to it!). Yes, there are several additional redirects that would be more commonly used than the full title of the article. Oh, the account cited by the BBC came from the 2001 convention, not the one in 2000. As the creator of the original article, I concur that the redirect to an article for the quotation itself is more appropriate. At the time, I intended for people to be able to locate the information about the quote in the Heston article itself, but this is better. Zaphraud (talk) 05:40, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
