December 28[edit]

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion on December 28, 2007

Jamie RzucekPeople v. Jovanovic[edit]

The result of the debate was speedy-deleted because 1) the redirect's creator and primary editor is the person nominating it for deletion and 2) in deference to the BLP concerns cited below. Rossami (talk) 15:08, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The subject of this redirect has made it clear that she does not want to be mentioned in connection with the court case [1]. She then replaced the redirect with an article about herself [2], but she is clearly not notable aside from her involvement in the case. Further she added a mis-spelling of her name to the People v. Jovanovic article[3], which again is unacceptable. In light of the "do no harm" doctrine of WP:BLP, and considering that the vast majority of the news coverage at the time did not mention her name, I think it prudent to remove her name from Wikipedia. I just removed it from the People v. Jovanovic article [4] and now the redirect should also be removed, so that search engines won't find it anymore. Several of stage names used by a Czech porn actress. Nella is common female name, Nelli has quite a many uses (here e.g. Herva Nelli), Mirva is a singer from Latvia (no article yet). Pavel Vozenilek (talk) 21:37, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mustard oil and North Indian CultureMustard oil[edit]

The result of the debate was delete. Content added has been moved to mustard oil. — Hex (❝?!❞) 18:59, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No notability and doesn't need to exist even as a redirect. It's a new article that was promptly changed to a redirect. Lilac Soul (talk contribs count) 15:39, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Unlikely search term, and unlikely to become a full-fledged article soon. --Fabrictramp (talk) 15:54, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep At first instance it does seem to be unnecessary but given some time it will definately develop into an article or maybe an article might arise out of this . Have a relook i have modified it a little bit . —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yesprimeminister (talkcontribs) 13:17, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unused orphan redirect Guroadrunner (talk) 09:34, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep: "unused" is different from "useless"; this particular redirect makes sense as a possible search term, as well as being a logical term to link to. Tizio 15:25, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep reasonable search term. –Pomte 03:01, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep The nominator completely misses the main point of redirects. Their primary function is to provide results for search terms. Abberley2 (talk) 14:54, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Halloween JackDavid Bowie[edit]

The result of the debate was delete. Halloween Jack (comics) was moved to Halloween Jack and a disambiguation header added. — Hex (❝?!❞) 19:13, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Offensive redirect. David Pro (talk) 13:18, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Retarget to Halloween Jack (comics). Since it's a possible term search. David Pro (talk) 14:26, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Behind the PROD-deleted pagehistory is evidence that this name was a persona created by Bowie for the 1974 concept album Diamond Dogs so I do not think that the redirect can be considered "offensive". Nevertheless, your proposed target makes more sense since the Bowie persona was a one-time act and not particularly notable. Retarget and consider a history-only undeletion. Rossami (talk) 15:27, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move Halloween Jack (comics)to Halloween Jack. Maybe add a for the David Bowie act, see David Bowie. - Koweja (talk) 05:01, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Implausible typo. David Pro (talk) 18:42, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Keep - disagree with nom. I actually thought this guy's name was Enrique Inglesias until this was brought up. Plausible typo redirect. Guroadrunner (talk) 21:26, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Keep - I too disagree with the nominator. Though I knew the correct spelling, I have seen this incorrect spelling in print. --Kimontalk 03:01, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Keep since redirs are cheap, and tag with {{R from misspelling}}. David Pro (talk) 14:21, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
