  • There is no proof that this image has been released under a public domain license at its source. Due to the banner at the bottom of the image, it is obviously unfree. As a non-free file, it fails WP:NFCC#8 and probably WP:NFCC#1 if used on the person's biographical article. Steel1943 (talk) 14:00, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It says it's CC-BY 3.0 in the HTML. Google picked it up. Mkultraviolence (talk) 14:27, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Umm, no it doesn't. Where is the actual proof of the license on the external page? Steel1943 (talk) 21:57, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It's coded in. If you do a search for "MDCC" or "Mark Speakman" on Vimeo or Google, then limit by license to "CC-BY" or usage rights to "reuse with modification" it comes up. If you're concerned about the logo, we can just crop it out. (I never claimed it was public domain either, I marked it CC-BY 3.0 when I uploaded it.) Mkultraviolence (talk) 01:58, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The permission is not listed specifically on the Vimeo page. Because of this, it my be impossible to confirm if the PD tag is valid or where the original image came from. In this case, I would without believe, per the image, that the rights to the image belong to "Miranda and Districts Chamber of Commerce" as part of a television broadcast. Steel1943 (talk) 02:02, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It wasn't broadcast on television, it was uploaded to a video-sharing website by the creator, Pauls Productions, under a Creative Commons licence. Mkultraviolence (talk) 02:06, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - @Steel1943: I found the license on the source page, but it's admittedly very hard to find. On the source video page you click on the "more" link under the video title in the line "from Pauls Productions PRO 6 months ago | more". An "About" box pops up, which has a grey icon at the bottom for the license. That icon is a cc-by-3.0 license icon, and it links to the license terms when clicked on. --Nick—Contact/Contribs 02:34, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Mkultraviolence (talk) 02:40, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

So what happens now? Can I take the Box off the file's page? Does Steel have to do it? (I guarantee you he's not coming back.) Does an admin do it? Do more people have to see this and vote? Mkultraviolence (talk) 08:37, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Mkultraviolence: This post will stay open for at least 7 days, after which an admin will review the comments and close it. So, for the time being, the box stays on the file page. --Nick—Contact/Contribs 04:39, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, thanks! Mkultraviolence (talk) 00:05, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Photograph of a copyrighted toy. See Commons:COM:TOY. Josh Milburn (talk) 14:44, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • The link is wrong, I think you mean Commons:COM:TOYS which might be we no one has responded? I'm no expert, but from what I understand we have to consider the copyright of the photographer and the copyright of the toy and/or character. Anyway, I vote to keep because the photo is the work of the uploader with a CC licence and if you look at the Jetstorm page where the picture is displayed, you can see other versions of the Jetstorm character uploaded with a copyright tag and a fair use rationale. We just need to add that tag to this picture and make sure it is only on Wikipedia not Commons. Visual representations of the toys convey the differences between the characters, e.g. this one is a plane but an earlier one was a 4WD. Mkultraviolence (talk) 01:34, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • This one I think we might have to delete because if you check the file history you can see that the image was originally the original uploader's own CC work, but it's been replaced by someone else with a presumably copyrighted professional image by Hasbro. Unless there is also a fair use rationale when it comes to using promotional images, but this can be and would be better replaced by a CC photo of the Energon Jetstream character leaving just a fair use on depicting the toy/character.
