- read header on my talk page, forced out of retirement for an issue like this, that file has been online ages and its on my own sites and in m own publications. Removing an image I have created myself is a joke, let the copyright claimant contact me in person! In the meantime it will be displayed on my own sites in public domain, please advise the (Personal attack removed) who claims it breaches to challenge me in person.--pl (talk) 14:13, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I agree with the nom. The low quality looks like it is a photo taken of another item. Delete. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 17:02, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Note Theses look like photographs taken of a painting at a monument (specifically Willoughby Monument) but since there is no freedom of panorama in the UK for painted works (see Commons:Freedom_of_panorama#United_Kingdom) this is not free. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 20:20, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- After looking over those files, I see many that would fall under the exact same criteria. I also see many that are just barely too young to be PD but are probably too old to be taken by said user. What can we do about these? Nom each one? -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 22:11, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I guess so, or better bundle them all together. Note that the uploader has started a discussion here. --Stefan2 (talk) 00:49, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- I've just deleted the article British Institute of Technology & E-commerce after it was listed at WP:CP for seven days. These images are all of the same organisation so I suspect they're copyvios but I don't know enough about image searching to prove it. Given the uploaders name I suspect permission wouldn't be impossible but they haven't edited since December and the CP listing got no response. The place in File:The Court.JPG is also clearly the Palace of Westminster depsite what it claims to be and I suspect some of the other photos but they aren't immediately identifiable to me. NOTE TO CLOSING ADMIN: It is only the current version of File:British Institute of Technology & E-commerce Graduation 2010.JPG which I suspect. I have no reason to suspect the earlier version and from the image it doesn't even look like a BITE graduation (the file name was changed after the new version was uploaded.) - What?!!
- Is this some sort of trolling you are doing, the file is released under Cc-by-sa-3.0|Historian Paul Lacey & FFLAG, the later means attribute, try an email. If you are trolling stop, look who owns the trade mark of the user ID and the ip associated with this posting. I really dislike trolls. --pl (talk) 16:01, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Nominating a file for deletion under a possibly unfree tag is not trolling. Stefan2 is a diligent editor who generally cleans up files (very successfully, I might add). Found a website for this Paul Lacey here. I'm inclined to believe that that User:Rovington might be Mr. Lacey (see signature of "pl"). Being that the image is a collage of photos of the video "Parents Talking" which was made by the organization FFLAG. As such, I believe that FFLAG owns the rights to the image and since there is no evidence of permission, I say Delete. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 17:02, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- I don't think that this can be considered free. The Doctor Who DVDs are definitely not de minimis. Stefan2 (talk) 17:05, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep It shows the spines only, not the front covers (and certainly not the entire covers); there is insufficient to aid the activities of a DVD pirate. I would say that approximately 5% of each cover is actually depicted here. --Redrose64 (talk) 18:17, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete Regardless of what portion of the case is used, the cover including the spine is copyright by the producer of the dvd (which is generally Warner Home Video for most of those and BBC Worldwide/2 Entertain for others). It is listed as public domain (even though it is not (should be FUR) and even still, the image does not pass WP:NFCC#8. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 18:43, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- File:Wu Jianquan.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs).
- The source appears to be an old copy of Wikipedia. It seems that the image was once at File:TCC Wu Chien-ch'uan 2.jpg, deleted after a Commons move to Commons:File:TCC Wu Chien-ch'uan 2.jpg and then deleted from Commons because it was "in category Unknown as of 10 October 2007 for more than 7 days, missing essential information". Could anyone check the old files and confirm whether they are the same and whether the deletions were correct? Stefan2 (talk) 18:50, 31 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment I found an larger version on this site. Doing some digging around, the guy who holds the copyright to the site (and most likely the content) also owns a Martial Arts Graphics site where he sells Martial Arts Graphics. I would think that if he holds the copyright to the image (which no one knows) he wouldn't let it go without fee. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 01:55, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Speedy delete as "see source" Bulwersator (talk) 08:27, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Wait a minute... User talk:Attilios/Licenses says that images are released as "fair use". However, the page also links to it:Wikipedia:Autorizzazioni ottenute/Stemmi which quotes some e-mails. Reading it:Wikipedia:Autorizzazioni ottenute/Stemmi#Classificazione GFDL, someone claims that some images were listed as GFDL, and someone called Bruno Fracasso, possibly an Araldica Civica person, is asked if this is correct. Bruno Fracasso says that he accepts the licence (Va bene quella licenza. = That licence is fine.). So it seems that we have an authorisation from Araldica Civica, but that we need an individual authorisation from the municipal administration (see it:Wikipedia:Autorizzazioni ottenute/Stemmi#ATTENZIONE: L'autorizzazione del disegnatore non è sufficiente. È necessario richiedere all'amministrazione comunale competente l'autorizzazione all'utilizzo secondo quanto indicato alla pagina Progetto:Coordinamento/Immagini#Stemmi ≈ The authorisation from the artist isn't enough. It is necessary to ask the municipal administration for authorisation on the use as indicated on the page Progetto:Coordinamento/Immagini#Stemmi). So it seems that they should still be deleted, but for a different reason (no evidence of permission from the municipal administration). --Stefan2 (talk) 13:30, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- On a second thought, if the problem is that we need permission from the municipal administrations of each municipality, I guess this makes the coats of arms similar to normal logos, i.e. irreplaceable by free images. Maybe we should keep the whole set as fair use. How would anyone feel about writing around 2000 fair use rationales? --Stefan2 (talk) 13:42, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
