The result of the discussion was: kept with license updated Skier Dude (talk) 02:13, 26 February 2012 (UTC) Copyright status is not clear, tagged PD-US, but taken after 1923. Original photographer died in 1958. Dual Freq (talk) 16:58, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Copyright is clearly PD-US. The Ralph R. Doubleday Rodeo Photographs are the property of the Donald C. & Elizabeth M. Dickinson Research Center, National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.[1] Because these original negatives date between ca. 1910 and ca. 1955 and because copyright has not been renewed, they are in the public domain [2] with the exception of any copyrighted images that Doubleday might have copied and which are the property of the respective copyright holders. For these, it is the responsibility of the researcher, and his/her publisher, to obtain publishing permission from individuals pictured and relevant copyright holders.
Cowboy Morgan Evans' Sister, his two heiress Daughters, his two Granddaughters, and his two Great-grandsons are all alive and happy in Texas. They are all pleased that this image remains in the PD-US public domain, and on Wikipeia too. One of the subjects Grandaughter's, Ms. Morgan Evans, is the Photographer[3], "Allie O." by whom the digitalized version was made which has only been questioned here by User Dual Freq. Dr. B. R. - Image was originally tagged PD-Self, which is why I'm asking for additional people to verify that this is the correct license. --Dual Freq (talk) 20:47, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
