Wikipedia:WikiProject Blackadder[edit]

Inactive project that, at best, should be demoted to be a task force under the Television project or the BBC project. It does not need to be a stand alone project as it is focused on a single television series, which goes against the Project creation guidelines. Comment, I have to agree the page isn't really that useful anymore - it was quite an active project until about a year ago, although it very much looks like some of its main objectives were in vain, with regards to TV episodes, and it never quite achieved its original goal, which was to get the main Blackadder page back to FA standard. Anyway, it hardly matters if it's kept or not, although some of the template codes, etc, are possibly still useful. Aren't old wikiprojects such as this usually retained "for historical interest"? Not necessary, I think. Old Wikiprojects can also be "demoted" into task forces and subprojects under its parent projects. In that case, I don't think much if lost, just relocated and repurposed. Collectonian (talk) 20:44, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comment after the nomination was modified, the project was created quite a long time ago before the Wikiproject guidelines were in place, and it would probably now come under Wikiproject BBC, which didn't incorporate television programmes at the time. I agree with the above commentator and suggest it could become part of that project. Bob talk 16:19, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Definitly keep, maybe merge Per John Carter, Inactivity is not a just cause for deletion — They've had plenty of discussions and stuff that would be bad to lose.--Phoenix-wiki 21:41, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - deletion of a project that has had significant work in the past but is now inactive is not appropriate. Mark as {{historical}} and leave it alone unless Wikipedia:WikiProject BBC wants it as a task force, still probably best to mark it historical. Deletion of inactive projects makes sense when they were created a year ago, had three members, one entry on their talk page and nothing but a filled in project template.
