The result of the discussion was Keep. This is a useful, non-BITEy page that clearly lists our contact info. King of ♠ 09:02, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Contact OTRS[edit]

Unnecessary. Seems to have been created because the user thought WP:OTRS and WP:CONTACT aren't clear enough. If they're not clear, propose they are changed, don't make a new page just to illustrate a WP:POINT. Mhiji 22:49, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep Uncluttered, useful page where new users can be directed. I agree with the sentiments of the page's author that WP:OTRS, WP:VRT, or WP:CONTACT are "utterly unhelpful for a new user" since none of them provides the necessary contact information. Users will have to wade through pages of information before finding what they need. I intend to direct new users to this page since it is much more helpful than the aforementioned ones. • Keep The only significant issue is "can this help some users?" To which the answer is "yes." This does not mean in any way that the other pages are not utile. Collect (talk) 14:40, 13 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Improving the existing pages (WP:OTRS is unhelpful in this regard and WP:CONTACT is largely useless in general) would help a great deal more users than forking off contact information to a new and presently orphaned page. There's no reason I can see why the contents of this page can't be included in a notice box at the top of WP:OTRS. This looks like a very long way for a shortcut when simply editing the useless third paragraph of WP:OTRS would have worked well enough. • Keep (Wrong forum for improving this situation). The pages need updating, not an MfD discussion where a whatever the close, there is an implied support for the status quo of undeleted pages. "wp:contract OTRS" seems a reasonable search term. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 05:08, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Redirect to Wikipedia:Contact us, which properly filters requests that OTRS can and can't handle. Giving users direct access to the OTRS email addresses without first positioning what they do and do not handle results in increased work for OTRS volunteers and disappointed people who feel they wasted time emailing. OTRS does not have the resources to act as a first point of enquiry for users with queries, and was never intended to be — the email addresses are placed at the bottom of a list of options for users to encourage self-resolution of problems. All of the relevant email addresses are available within two clicks of WP:CONTACT. Stifle (talk) 10:42, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
