Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Warnings/Insignificant edits[edit]

As users need a certain level of experience to even use AWB, this template comes off as a bit patronizing and makes a veiled threat of having their access removed, and I don't see how any level of editing can fix this. Since AWB users are required to have experience with the encyclopedia, and registering for AWB at all indicates that users are serious, this also falls afoul of the advice given at Wikipedia:Don't template the regulars, which recommends personal messages for experienced users. If I got this message, I would be insulted by it, even back when I first started with AWB. SchuminWeb (Talk) 00:29, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. I've never understood the mentality of WP:DTTR (which lest we forget, is a personal essay by Hipocrite, not any kind of guideline let alone policy); I agree with pretty much every word here. The "don't use AWB to remove white space" warning is one that's given out fairly frequently – what would be gained by forcing everyone to type the same thing out longhand, especially since this doesn't look like a template message? – iride scent 21:59, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
