Non-notable person  :- ) Don 16:01, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Comment - This page has been beaten to death.  So long, that I'm not sure anymore whether this person is notable or not.  Originally I thought he did not meet the basic notability requirements and the supporting evidence is, I believe, marginally supportive.  It would be good to have a general consensus outside of AfC on this.  Thanks.   :- ) Don 16:11, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak Keep No article on this person at French Wikipedia. However, a book he wrote appears to be cited in the French WP Airbus 380 article. I say we give it the benefit of the doubt. --Surturz (talk) 12:54, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete The subject is absolutely not notable. The books he wrote are an autobiography (autour de l'avion) for one and mostly about his professional experience for the second (Bleu Ciel Des hommes et l'Avion) so that doesn't count as a proof of notability. They are also not really used as a ref for the French article about the A380. The book is just listed in the bibliography section with no connection to the text of the article. I'm actually going to remove it from there. In any event, not notable person.--McSly (talk) 02:28, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete The article is about Desbois as a test flight engineer, and as a test flight engineer he is not notable. If the topic was Gérard Desbois (writer) I would be willing to consider a different conclusion. David_FLXD (Talk) Review me 12:43, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep adequately supported, statement, the "youngest ever engineer" and that as a member of the A380 Flight Test Team that was Awarded Aero-Club de France Golden Medal makes him significant. FWiW Bzuk (talk) 14:18, 28 July 2012 (UTC).[reply]
The source for the statement "He is the youngest flight test engineer graduates (29 years old) since the beginnings of aviation" is his autobiography which is a primary source and fails WP:V for that claim. The link provided to support the claim is a marketing blurb [1] ("il entre à l’EPNER (École du Personnel Navigant d’Essais et de Réception), d’où il sort, à l’âge de 29 ans, le plus jeune mécanicien navigant d’essais jamais breveté") can clearly be read as being the youngest graduate from that school and nothing more. In any event the text "since the beginnings of aviation" or "youngest ever engineer" is absolutely not supported by the source provided. --McSly (talk) 20:03, 28 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - After six declined submissions, it is clear the article will not be created and deleting the page will help stop the repeated submissions in project space. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 05:09, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete Notability not established. No reason for this to remain in AFC queue forever. jni (talk) 08:23, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
