User:TheGrimReaper NS/UBX/Warn Jimbo[edit]
No one is using the box and I don't think that Jimbo will need to be warned as he has taken a pretty hands-off approach to the site. I also doubt that this would be used as tongue-in-cheek humor. --Kevin Rutherford (talk) 21:39, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
- Delete The relevant guideline is WP:UBX, which states the userboxes "must not contain incivility or personal attacks." While the creator of this userbox surely did so in good faith and did not mean to personally attack anyone, anyone who actually uses the userbox – no one at this time – will be personally attacking Jimbo Wales (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA). After all, "warned Jimbo Wales" implies that he did something wrong. Transclusion of this userbox, therefore, would be an accusation about personal behavior without evidence – a personal attack under WP:NPA#What is considered to be a personal attack?. And given our BLP standards, I doubt anyone would dare to call such a transclusion "tongue-in-cheek humor." A Stop at Willoughby (talk) 19:20, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
- Comment - actually, I never imagined it like that. I just thought anyone who made a technical error with a warning tool might want to have a laugh about it afterwards; Jimbo is sensible and would never damage Wikipedia, but unfortunately, technical tools are not the most accurate. I apologise for anything bad I may have done, but I have seen a userbox smiliar to it (not exactly the same) and there were no objections to that userbox. --TheGrimReaper 15:21, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
