User:Pacian[edit]

Alright I'm not really sure about this one but here it goes. I came across Pacian's userpage and talkpage because I PRODded an article s/he wrote. Noticing their talkpage had many image copyright problem messages, AfD messages and the like without responses, I took a look at his contributions. The user hasn't made a single edit in almost two years (8/1/06), and it's safe to assume that they likely aren't coming back. I put a template on his/her talk page noting that the user is likely not on Wikipedia anymore, similar to the one that was once on User:Curps. I know this is likely going to lead to a WP:NOHARM argument, but I (personally) don't see the point in keeping a user and talk page of someone who has almost certainly left the project and hasn't made an edit in over 18 months. I know it doesn't seem like much, but combined with the countless other abandoned user and talk pages, it takes up server space and resources, which is probably the same reason we delete user and talk pages of indefinitely blocked users and those who have declared themselves as having left the project permanently (although there are other reasons for that as well). Nevertheless, if Pacian ever does decide to return, the pages can always be undeleted. Just a thought. Mister Senseless (Speak - Contributions) 20:26, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - Unless it's a sockpuppet or someone who has chosen to invoke the right to vanish, I think userpages are never meant to be deleted. Please also see [1] D.M.N. (talk) 20:28, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. There's nothing wrong about the userpage. Also, you don't need to worry about performance. bibliomaniac15 Hey you! Stop lazing around and help fix this article instead! 20:33, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep you may be interested to know that deleting articles doesn't free up any server space at all as they have to remain viewable to admins. if anything, taking the effort to start a deletion discussion to get them deleted is going to use up much more resources. -- Naerii 11:48, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per WP:EM. This editor participated for close to two years, had over 1,000 edits in the mainspace, and created pages such as Paula Cole. His user page consists of commentary on his wiki-philosophy and discussion of Wikipedia activities, which is proper content for a user page. If he ever does come back, I'm sure he wouldn't want to find his user page deleted. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 06:39, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
