User:KHCB1992[edit]

Re-created page in userspace that was speedily deleted in mainspace on 20 December 2008 for G11: blatant advertising, see: Kempinski Hotel Corvinus --Funandtrvl (talk) 19:48, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Delete: The page is a user page, it has not been approved for an article page, and when it was in the article main space it was speedily deleted. Yesterday from that user page, I disabled the categories that the user page was placed into [1], since it is not an article. Probably, the author should move the info to a user subpage, and should go thru the regular process of making it a notable article. However, in its present state, it is just advertising, and does not meet WP:USERPAGE guidelines. I still think it should be deleted, and the author can decide to re-create it in one of his/her subpages, at his perogative. If we don't delete it, and we leave it as is, the author will have no incentive to move it to a subpage and will essentially have free advertising on his/her user page. --Funandtrvl (talk) 17:15, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Move to user subpage: I would agree that moving to a subpage of the user would be an appropriate solution. So do I remove the mfd and then do that? Thanks. --Funandtrvl (talk) 18:11, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep If this was a DRV I'd say the speedy was probably in error. Let him work on this as a userspace draft in order to try to bring it up to standards and establish notability. It should be moved to a subpage though and the user should be told how subpages work. Gigs (talk) 21:10, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • The draft does not qualify for speedy deletion under criterion G11 and the user has expressed a desire to see this page moved to the mainspace - see Talk:Kempinski Hotel Corvinus, so I am inclined to say move to mainspace and optionally list at AfD. Please note that there may be a possible conflict of interest here: "KHCB1992" probably stands for "Kempinski Hotel Corvinus, Budapest", which opened in 1992. –Black Falcon (talk) 23:18, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
On the matter of the speedy deletions of the article on 20 December 2008, I think that it is important to note that this draft article is different from the article that was speedy deleted (twice). Both the first and second version were promotional (e.g., "striking, modern building", "towering over the very center of Budapest", "purpose-built and boldly modern") and speediable. The page being considered at this time is a revised version of the deleted article (much of the content is the same, but the tone has improved). –Black Falcon (talk) 17:04, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Follow-up comment in response to Funandtrvl's comment dated 17:15, 15 January 2010 (UTC): If the consensus is to keep the draft in userspace, then move to a subpage per Funandtrvl. –Black Falcon (talk) 17:58, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep Notable hotel listed in NYT budapest&st=nyt&pagewanted=2 as a great luxury hotel. Fodor gives it "best business hotel." Frommer says it is the coirporate hotel of choice, and also for musicians (listing Madonna, Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan as examples). Listed in books on hotel design, etc. Should never have been speedied. Collect (talk) 11:54, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move to mainspace It can sink or swim there. Else, delete as WP:FAKEARTICLE. Miami33139 (talk) 15:21, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Update: The user responded on 25 Jan 2010, see: the diff; however, the user referred to a previous edit of their user page or article, and has not yet edited their current user page to conform with user page guidelines. I have requested again that the user move the user page content to a subpage or delete it. --Funandtrvl (talk) 15:47, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
