User:Galico/my userboxes/Re establishment of the Spanish Empire (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Obvious attempt at promoting colonialism, clearly inflammatory and divisive. — Sundostund mppria (talk / contribs) 18:23, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that all transcluders of a userbox should be notified when the userbox is nominated for deletion. The nomination seeks to modify their userpages. This userbox has five other transcluders, four long gone, but one of which, User:Half-kratos21, edited recently. SmokeyJoe (talk) 03:29, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Comment. by userboxes without connection to actual mainspace content do you mean political opinions that don't have a wikipedia article or?
because they are many political opinions that might also have political userboxes but might not have a wikipedia article. Half-kratos21 (talk) 03:58, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I mean, a defence of a political userbox is that it is a user’s declaration of their bias, which might come into play in their mainspace editing. This assumes that the politics is an encyclopedic topic, and simple proof of that is the politics being covered in an article, any article. SmokeyJoe (talk) 00:47, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Some people plaster their Userpage with many Userboxes. This might be a reason to ask the user to be more concise with their Userpage, but it is not a reason to delete the userbox templates. SmokeyJoe (talk) 00:49, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agree about informing the transcluders. Something like that happened to me once. RadioactiveBoulevardier (talk) 04:55, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
